“Great hotel staff”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

The Music Hotel staff were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay. Easy walking distance to the vieux port and restaurants. Ask to reserve a parking space in advance if you have car. The rooms are decent size with large bathrooms. Having stayed there twice in two different rooms, both were of good size. The rooms in the back are quieter.

After travelling through France and Italy during 4 weeks, we stayed at the Music Hotel in Marseille on our way back to Holland. we couldn't have stayed in a better hotel!
Staff was very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Great room, spacious, with designer look and feel, in style with the rest of the hotel . Good breakfast, with all kinds of fresh products.
Nice neighbouhood (Prefecture), close to the centre and the old harbour, etc.
we only booked one night but stayed there for three nights, we were lucky it was possible. Tried to book this hotel for next july:
Marseille is one of Europes Cultural Capitals and Gay pride week, but I'm sorry to find there's no vacancy left....

The Music Hotel is well-located (a short walk from the port and a 5-10 min cab ride from Gare St. Charles) and its staff are friendly and helpful. We had a standard room, which was a decent size, clean, and adequately furnished. The hotel is not particularly beautiful, nor is the ambience anything special, but it's a good choice for 1-2 nights. Convenient, functional, and good value for money. I'd stay here again.

Stayed here for one night and enjoyed it greatly. Very large room, by European standards, with really cool decor. Lots of fascinating art everywhere, very clean look in the rooms. Be careful in the shower since that European aversion to shower curtains persists so you can easily spray the large washroom if you're not careful. Breakfast was very generous - ate until we felt nice and full which was a great start to the day when we were departing.

Although it's probably smarter to walk down the hill to the metro station, which is how we went home, we walked here from the TGV station on a warm November day. Hotel staff were very helpful, willing to share suggestions on places to dine and visit. We told the restaurant I'll mention below that the hotel recommended them and we were surprised when the apertifs were on the house. Always good to tell people who sent you over!

[The restaurant is a very cozy and romantic place called "Le Quinze" (the 15), at, you guessed, it, 15 Rue des Trois Rois.]

Note that the hotel is wonderfully positioned halfway between two metro lines on the side of a hill. If you want to be lazy, go to the hotel by getting off at the Notre Dame du Mont Cours Julien station. The Estrangin Prefecture statoin is at the bottom of the hill, so that's better for when you're leaving.

Good location convenient for dining and shopping; you can reach old port and main street by foot for everything. Perfect front desk with good hospitality; a restaurant for bouillabaisse introduced was a bit far from the hotel but was the best I have ever visited. I will be back with my wife, next time!

Spent the night (21 Nov 12) here before departing out of Marseilles airport. Hotel is very nice, room was clean and roomy and we enjoyed spending time in the lobby prior to going out to dinner. Artistic district was within easy walking distance with lots of restaurant potentials. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and had the taxi there at 5am as requested. Would definitely recommend. Showering without curtians did make for a laugh or two with water everywhere!!

Only 10 rooms in the hotel I believe, so for a small relatively inexpensive hotel the little touches made it just that bit different. Lots of contemporary art - with a music theme as you might imagine. Bathroom had waterfall taps and our room had a jacuzzi bath.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and it was only 10 minutes from all the central attractions/shopping/ restaurants.
Didn't partake of breakfast (wanted to get out and about), but there's a little boulangerie just at the bottom of the street in the square with the fountains that was very good value.
Our room was quiet and well equipped with an enormous tv!
Would definitely recommend.
