Stayed here for one night and enjoyed it greatly. Very large room, by European standards, with really cool decor. Lots of fascinating art everywhere, very clean look in the rooms. Be careful in the shower since that European aversion to shower curtains persists so you can easily spray the large washroom if you're not careful. Breakfast was very generous - ate until we felt nice and full which was a great start to the day when we were departing.
Although it's probably smarter to walk down the hill to the metro station, which is how we went home, we walked here from the TGV station on a warm November day. Hotel staff were very helpful, willing to share suggestions on places to dine and visit. We told the restaurant I'll mention below that the hotel recommended them and we were surprised when the apertifs were on the house. Always good to tell people who sent you over!
[The restaurant is a very cozy and romantic place called "Le Quinze" (the 15), at, you guessed, it, 15 Rue des Trois Rois.]
Note that the hotel is wonderfully positioned halfway between two metro lines on the side of a hill. If you want to be lazy, go to the hotel by getting off at the Notre Dame du Mont Cours Julien station. The Estrangin Prefecture statoin is at the bottom of the hill, so that's better for when you're leaving.More
