Novotel Marseille Vieux Port

Stayed here 1 night after our cruise.
Very nice hotel with close location to the Vieux Port.
Hotel has a nice design with trendy lobby and rooms. We did not take
the breakfast of the hotel. Drinks around the pool rather expensive. We stayed there in high
season and it gets quite busy around the swimming pool (shared with Sofitel hotel, which is next door).

Clean and well designed hotel. The location is good, it takes 5-7 minutes to walk to the center where all the restaurants, bars and shops are. City bus (and other busses) stop in front of the hotel and it takes you in 10 minutes to the more quite beaches like Plage du Prado. The staff in Novotel is one thing we were not satisfied with, not very helpful, and sometimes very rude when we wanted to drink a espresso in the restaurant after dinner, the waitress immediately send us away. Reception doesn't have the time to explain and give you correct information for a tour to Calanques. We did already pay in advance, but at the end of our stay she gave us the bill with breakfast which we didn't have. The swimming pool is nice, but a little too less sunbeds, its hard to lay at the pool at noon.. In short, i would recommend this hotel because of its location and design.

Stayed here for 4 nights with 2 teenagers and partner. Hotel staff scarce, tired and dirty carpets in rooms and corridors. Rooms are big with large showers but stench coming out from bathroom sink.drinks not cheap but general ambiance in bar/ pool area nice. Pool tiny and very crowded during the day as it is also shared with Sofitel next door. Lovely patisserie a few minutes away left of hotel so bought breakfast from there.

I guess this hotel need more staff. Staff are good but I think each staff doing their job more than one person. They cleaned room not before 16h. In these season swimming pool very busy. Because Novatel and Sofitel cguest using some pool. Too many children and very noisy. very nice breakfast view. But they have poor breakfast.

Well located, wonderful view over the old port and citycenter from the restaurant and bar. Good breakfast. Nice pool and service. Easy to walk into the citycenter 10-15 minutes and hotel is located next to a busstop on the "Hop on hop off" busses. All together a nice and recommendable experience.

Great stay at this hotel. Location is convenient by the old port of Marseille. It's on a fairly busy road but you can still walk down to all the port restaurants without problems and can also go on foot to Notre Dame de la Garde. Room very bright and spacious and well designed, with blackout curtains meaning I slept well. Bathroom also spacious. Minibar prices were pretty high - some Novotels offer you a free bottle of water but this one doesn't. That said, there was free wifi in the room and I've been to other Novotels where that wasn't the case. I didn't get chance to use the pool but it looked fantastic up on the roof of the building, away from the traffic and with a view of the old port -definitely a plus point to this hotel. Staff very helpful on check in/ check out/ with requests for information. If the price was right I'd stay here again.
