It is not only the dominant of the city but it really is worth climbing the hill. As far as the light conditions for taking pictures it is better to visit in the afternoon.

Great view to the city and sea. Take a walk to the Basilique even if it's a bit challenging. The Cathedral itself is really beautiful.

The main view from the city is of this cathedral and it provides equally stunning views of the city and the surrounding area. Be prepared to navigate a lot of stairs and slopes but it's all worth it. A must visit.

I've taken many visitors to this attraction and everyone has been very impressed... whether we walk up to the big cathedral or go into the smaller chapel and lower spaces, there is never a disappointment.

Too bad the small trains let out so much pollution (hello, electric?), but otherwise great drive up. Sit in the back to avoid worst pollution
