We didn't visit the church because it was already closed but this is the perfect place to watch the sunset in Marseille. Just so beautiful!!!

Perched high on a mountain top overlooking Marseilles, you can truly feel closer to Heaven while visiting Notre Dame de la Garde. The view of the surrounding city is magnificent and alone is well worth the visit. The church itself is truly awe-inspiring. Plan to spend at least an hour here. The museum is interesting, there is a nice restaurant, a busy gift shop, and elevators to ease your tired feet. BUT - do not try to walk up. Take the tourist train or a taxi up and then, if you must, walk down. Your feet will thank you.

Exquisite historical site. Some of the most beautiful mosaic floors I have seen. Beautiful Dame! Worth a visit but check when it is open as we talked to a French couple who said it was often closed.

It is an interesting site for family members of all ages. The train ride to Notre Dame was awesome. The frequency of the trains is quite convenient.

This church may be the highest place in marseille. The whole city can be seen when you are there. Meanwhile, the church itself is gorgeous. Very beautiful place to visit!
