Yes it's a long way to get there, metro, then bus, then a long walk.... But it is truly spectacular. We walked to calanques de sugiton, and was amazed at how blue the water actually is, photos don't do it justice. Also impressive was how clean and litter free the park is... Bravo! It is a long walk, and then quite a climb, but worth the effort.

After taking the 21 bus to Luminy you can hike to the Calanque. It's a really beautiful hike through the park and you have some great views.

The beach itself was very beautiful and the water was crystal clear, but it is exhausting to get there. After a 45min bus ride from Marseilles center, you had to walk and "climb" for about 40min through the zone which was a national park (If I remember it right). If you have to possibility to go there by ship it would be perfect, otherwise this trip is more suitable for nature-lovers.

On the first day, we went to the small tour called cassis..From there, we took an hour cruise to see calanques...it was so beautiful, so we decided to climb to see the calanque on the very next day...the its quite a long climb but really worth to go.. it took us 2 hour to reach one of the calanque..The scenary was so beautiful..we will go there again in future...

A few days ago I wrote a critical review of the boat company whom it seemed had cancelled most sailings on a warm peaceful day for no apparent reason. I am writing now because although Tripadvisor will not let me write a follow up straightaway I wish to say how much we enjoyed the shorter two hour version of the tour on Wednesday morning of this week. We arrived perhaps twenty minutes before the start. There were probably thirty others waiting. The boat was big, powerful, sleek, clean, fast and staffed by friendly helpful and affable crew. Although the commentary on the way out and into the Calanques was entirely in French it was possible to follow a good deal of it except some of the speedy and complex historical detail. The coastline is spectacular, the inlets were better than we had hoped. I had a yearning to have been here for one of the longer mid summer tours when it is apparently possible to stop and swim off the boat in the amazingly clear and light blue waters. As it was we had good seats on the way out on the top open deck and then relaxed all the way back on the lower deck at the back, peaceful bit fast as if we were benefiting from our own stylish private cruise along this delightful piece of the Mediterranean. We had a thoroughly good time. €22 per adult standard fare as I recall. Recommended but do be aware of the high risk of weather or other cancelations or you may be in for a good deal of wasted time and disappointment. Also it was worth taking a coat even though the weather was lovely. There was no bar or buffet so had we not just had a good breakfast the sea air would have given us a huge appetite.
