“Clean and modern”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2012

The location was great. I went to Marseille by train from St. Charles station and tried to take a cab but the driver refused to take us probably because it was too close? and told us to take the metro instead. It was only two stops and the hotel was right infront of the metro exit so it was ok. The room was clean and modern with minimum space and amenities. If you're travelling alone and come back just to sleep, it's enough but I was traveling with a family member so we had to get another room. We had a booking through expedia cheap but we had to pay double that price for the second room. The female staff was friendly and helpful but another male staff was not helpful at all. I asked about the Calanque excursion which was on the city map ad that the hotel offered, but the guy just said "I don't know" and didn't try to make any effort to find out for me.

Room Tip: The breakfast room is on the 5th floor so if you don't want people walking by your room, you sho...

The location is great for knowing Marseille, you can go to many interesting places from there walking, like the boat tour to the Calanques during the day and the restaurants and bars at night. The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly and they helped a lot with tourist information. The view from our room`s balcony was great. Breakfast was nice too. The price is fare.

You can't fault its location right by the Vieux Port. The staff are professional, friendly and very happy to communicate in English. The room was quiet, clean and modern and the bed comfortable with extra pillows available in the wardrobe should you need them. My only cavil is that the hotel is rather lacking in charm. This is a no-nonsense hotel that does what it does very well and it's excellent if you are passing through for a night or two. But if you want something with a bit more character or if you are staying for a longer stretch of time and need a more homey place, you might be better off looking for something else.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. It is situated in an excellent location next to the port. We had a superior room that had a balcony overlooking the old port. The free WiFi was a breath of fresh air but the signal was rather poor in our room. Our room and bathroom was very clean and modern. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Overall a very good experience and we will certainly return to this hotel but probably not until they complete the new construction work around the old port in preparation for 2013 when the city will be the European Capital of Culture.

Room Tip: If you like good views from your room choose one with a balcony overlooking the port

This hotel was so wonderful we booked again and will stay here whenever we come to Marseilles. Rooms are modern, very functional, with balcony overlooking the Port/ town. Breathtaking views! Location is across the street from the Metro - very easy to get to from the main train station, St Charles- about 5 minute train ride. A big mall with Galleries Lafayettes is on the next block, and there are many restaurants and cafes nearby. Hotel staff speaks English - a plus for me- though they were also quite tolerant of my bad French! An excellent value for the money.

This was my second visit to Marseille and this time I took my family for a quick visit. I located this hotel via Expedia and checking Trip Advisor reviews. I ended up booking directly through the hotel website as it was the least expensive alternative. (They were also very accomodating when I realized I had booked initially for the wrong night - correcting my error very quickly and with no hassle.) While not cheap, for location and convenience, this was a super place to stay to get a feel for Marseille.

It is convient to all the restaurants lining the port, metro and tourist destinations. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and responsive. We had a limited time in Marseille and the clerk directed us to options to make the most of our short visit.

The room for 3 was spacious and comfortable with air conditioning that worked well as it was quite warm in Marseille.

The port is undergoing major renovation so be aware that this is probably not the optimum time to visit Marseille but if you do, I would recommend this hotel and will stay again if going to this lovely port city.
