Brilliant and friendly staff, delightful room which does not require any "modernisation" ...one of the best rooms that has not been a suite we have had anywhere in the world. Please remember this is France not Orlando. We did not sample the breakfast as we prefer to eat alfresco at the port which is two minutes away - yes two minutes. Metro station one minute away which is 2 stops from the train station. The buses which go to Notre dam cathedral are a minute away, tip do not walk to the port road use the nearest bus stop on the avenue. Buy the day pass for 5 euros which gives a full 24 hours on all local transport; metro, trams buses - including buses which go to the beaches. I believe there is a longer pass which includes the brilliant ferry boats that operate until after midnight. This hotel is excellant value for money especially if you book in advance direct with the hotel. We had a room upgrade without asking.
Remember you are right in the heart of the city here and you will get a little street noise but so what. If you want an authentic French experience in a great and dynamic city then stay here otherwise look elsewhere. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Book early to get a great rate at the hotel and have a superior room.

The location is perfect, in the heart of the Vieux Port, close to bars, restaurants, and everything you need to know Marseille. However, the hotel is a bit too old to be called "New" hotel. The room definitely needs modernization. Carpets corroded by time, electrical outlets that do not work is the kind of things you find. The bathroom had no place to hang the shower of the bath. I felt difficulty bathing and washing my hair due to this.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room on arrival - it seemed to be done in an Indian theme - and the bathroom was quite large as well. Inside the small fridge was something left by somebody else - an empty bottle of juice and some half opened food. I had to ask reception if there was supposed to be anything in there (ie minibar type items that we might be charged for, or if it should have been empty). Plenty of pillows was good, paper-thin windows were not. It was quite loud. The location was decent, very close to the port, but not actually on it so you got no view. There is an amazing ice cream parlour literally next door though. The wifi wasn't very good at all - kept dropping out for minutes on end - though it was free. Taxi to the hotel from the train station cost about 25 euro, however taxi to the airport on the way out cost 65!
Overall, I would choose somewhere else next time.

The hotel is located just 50 metres from the waterfront and is therefore within easy walking distance of all the major tourist attractions. It is slightly difficult to access by car because the street to which it's entrance fronts is now pedestrians only. Secure, undercover public parking is available within 100 metres. Reception was friendly and efficient. The two rooms occupied by our party were smartly styled, moderately spacious, and with modern bathrooms. Our online booking rate proved to be good value. Recommended.

We were more than pleased with this hotel. We live in the region, but felt like the weekend in Marseille was a real mini-break. Th hotel's location is excellent, and remarkably quiet. The rooms are lovely, and the staff super friendly. Parking easy, and around the corner in Charles de Gaulle. Wonderful!

Our room was lovely, with a beautiful view of the old port, but for the price we paid, I thought there should be some ammenities offered. We bought a couple bottles of wine while in Provence, but our room did not have a wine opener. When I went to the front desk to request a wine opening, he looked in a drawer and then said they did not have one in the entire hotel. There was a mini fridge in our room, but it didn't work, nor was there a mini-bar. Also, i'm assuming this is Europe in general, but there wasn't an ice maker in the hotel, even though they had a kitchen and serve breakfast, so we had no way of chilling our lovely Rose.

Stayed here for one night after debarking from a cruise; hotel very conveniently located in the Vieux Port area with plenty of stores, restaurants to walk and wander around. Also metro is about a 2 min walk from the hotel. Hotel room was larger that the average European hotel room. Check is is reported to be at 3:00 pm, but we got our room key around 1:00 pm. Even though staff might not be very fluent in english, they are friendly and helpful and will give you information about the city and whereabouts. Breakfast was included in our fare, but were unable to try it since we had an early flight out of Marseille and it starts at 6:30 am. Would definitely stay back again.

P.S. If you want to go to the Notre Dame de la Gard, take public bus #60 about a block from the hotel, it's 1.80 Euros each way and will let you at the door of the Church
