We are members of Relais Chateaux and we book our trip around their hotels. We were very excited to stay in Le Petit Nice because this hotel has three Michelin stars. Marseille is a city to avoid, and everyone who knew about our trip, told us not to go to this city. Truely, you do not need to go to Marseille EVER! In spite of knowing this, we booked our stay at Le Petit Nice anyway to experience the famous restaurant. As soon as we got there, we realized we made a mistake. The receptionist greeted us with so much indifference. The chef was at the reception and did not even sy hi. We are great fans of famous chefs, and we're so excited to meet him. The rooms were not ready for an hour and a half. We had lunch at the terrace which was fine, but extremely expensive. She didn't even come to tell us that the rooms were ready. the a/c worked poorly on both rooms. The restaurant was closed, because we arrived on a Monday. We were to stay two nights. The other receptionist, a man, was even worse. My daughter came down with towels and he screamed at her to take them back. I have to add my daughter is a 20 year old....not a little girl. I must say that everything they did made us realize we were in the wrong place. we decided to skip the gastronomique dinner to leave next day to another Relais Chateaux where we were completely pampered. Mr. Passedat, you don't deserve the stars you have been given for your hotel. Sad stay indeed.

Room Tip: Don't go!

One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in, with outstanding views , clean, bus access, next to rock beach, walking distance to sandy beach. Marseille itself is somewhat dirly, lots of graffiti and homelessness in the downtown area but the hotel is outstanding. For the expensive cost of the hotel, a free shuttle to the airport or at least the bus or train station downtown should be included but is not.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in mid March. He was on business. We chose this over the more center city hotels. The walk into town was 30 minutes, bus or taxi also readily available. The staff was helpful. The beds were comfortable, not hard as usually found in France. Each night with turn down we received lovely treats that were too hard to resist. Unfortunately, we did not eat at this Michelin #3 rated restaurant.

Room Tip: Plan ahead, this is a small boutique hotel.

Petit Nice is in a spectacular location, but out of the main downtown area. It is a good 20 minutes walk or a bus is available, number 83. Alternatively 10 euro taxi trip each way. The views from the hotel are amazing, and if you stayed in town itself, you could miss the beauty of the mediterranean. The restaurant is a two hat restaurant and is seafood specific, the food is great, but just check the menu before booking to ensure you are comfortable with the menu and price. Dinner for two is an easy 500 euro. The staff are very friendly and ready to help with whatever you need. I would recommend this hotel as it has everything you could want for a very special occasion, or to slurge on a bit of extra luxury while travelling.

This hotel has high-end service and amenities. The room was absolutely huge with beautiful large numerous windows opening on a terrace twice as big as the room with a direct view of the ocean. The breakfast (room service) was delicious and the service was perfect. Very quiet also.

Le Petit Nice Passedat was a restful 3 day stop into our 4 plus weeks of vacation. The property was easy to find driving with our GPS and we were greeted by Elise who remembered us from our email correspondance. Our room was very clean and spacious with a tub and shower, and had a beautiful view of the bay full of activity with swimmwers, kayaks, fisherman and sunbathers. We dined out the first evening but reserved the Passedat restaraunt for our last night to experience a 5 star dinner. The food was fabulous and we had many courses from the chef's choice set menue including a great selection of french cheeses. In the afternoon we lounged by the pool and enjoyed a beautiful lunch in the sun. The service was impecable, truly a gem.

Room Tip: The beds and pillows were divine and the best

So well looked after, from the moment we arrived to the sad time when we had to leave.
This one night stay was for a special occassion and it was wonderful.
5star plus.
The food was out of this world, and we were able to sit out side and enjoy the sound of the Blue below.
Thank you to the team that made it all possible
