“Most vibrant area in Marseille”
Reviewed July 5, 2014

We found the Old port/Vieux port is the best place to hang out in Marseille.A warm place with lots of different groups of crowd and lots of different road-side cuisines. Taking a walk in this place during sunset time is a treat to your eyes.

“Not just for tourists”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

Fishermen unload their boats and carry their catches to stalls on the Vieux Port -- a stunning variety; I took more pictures of the fish than of anything else in the city.

“Bom ambiente”

Very touristic. Some good and known stores around. Some nice restaurants to eat close to the port but kind of expensive. A good place to see in Marseille but not my favourite

“The place to take a rest in this huge city”
Reviewed July 2, 2014 via mobile

A beautiful place you feel as Marseillie embraces the old port in the middle of the city .... spacious and yachts on the quays Association vast and old houses on the sides of the docks all this makes it a gathering place for young people and all those visitors to the beautiful city

“Vibrant and bustling with plenty going on.”
Reviewed July 1, 2014 via mobile

A busy port with plenty to see. Lots of street entertainment took place the days we went down to the port which added to the atmosphere. Interesting fish market and some days there were stalls selling souvenirs. Plenty of places to eat and watch the world go by. Easy to get on a tourist boat and visit the many coves around the coastline. Recommend the 'train' up to the cathedral which you can get from the port.
