“We returned several times!”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

We came back to this restaurant several times over the course of our time in Marseille - really good prices, unfailingly good food (we sampled pasta, pizza and fish), decent house wines by the glass and one waitress in particular who never stopped smiling!

“Wonderful good & lovely waitress!”
Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

We ate here on our first night in Marseille. Our table was overlooking the port. The waitress was amazing she even spoke perfect English when she realised that my French is below par. I had the mushroom & olive pizza. My boyfriend had the carbonara. Both were excellent and dessert was just plain perfect. It was very reasonably priced given its great location too.

“Great service, pizza & salads!”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

Another one of my favorites in Marseille. We visited La Galiotte many times. Loved their pizzas and goat cheese salad. Our hostess, Marie, was absolutely delightful! Thank you for the wonderful meals!

“The worst service I have ever had in a restaurant”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

We went to La Galiote as it was on the harbour and we were not looking for anywhere too fancy to eat on our first night in Marseille. The pizza's were reasonably priced (10e-13e) compared to other restaurants in that area.

We waited to be seated. There was a waiter who we caught his eye, but he was too busy rearranging the cutlery to help us. We found a table anf therefore sat down ourselves.

After a delay a waiter took our order. A bottle of water was placed on our table, but no glasses.

We waited..then the manager came over with our wine. Opened the bottle and then saw we had no glasses. He went away.

We waited..after 10 mins we got up asked the waitress where our glasses were. Eventually we got our wine glasses.

We were at the table for 1hr 30mins waiting for our 2 pizzas. In that time no one came to apologise, offer maybe some bread or even acknowledge we were there. We had not eaten all day and were starving.

Eventually we had had enough. I went to see the manager and gave him the remaining wine and told him we were going. He just shrugged his shoulders. There is no leadership, organisation or any customer service in this place and they are only in business because of their location. Beware.

We proceeded to go to Macdonalds (my first visit in 10 years!) To get some food as it was not half ten at night.

We walked past on our way to our hotel and noticed the people on the table next to us complaining. They still had no food.

Abysmal. Stay away.
