Located just opposite one of the tram stops. Hotel rooms are spacious and modern. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was great. The only negative was the what seemed to be dirty breakfast trays. These were stained with what looked like sticky maple syrup.

We stayed here for two nights on our way to Barcelona. This was close to perfection for a base for us. Just outside and across the hotel you can catch the tram connecting to almost every tourist/dining destination in Marseilles.

The hotel is clean with good-sized rooms and did I say clean?! This hotel was also two blocks from a big shopping mall Les Terrasses du Port. Some dining options in the mall but the building in between the shopping mall and hotel (Les Docks de la Joliette) has better dining options.

This one is definitely a good choice for your stay in Marseille....large room and fully equipped with all utilities. Hotel is clean and you can expect standard service here. Food variety is limited for breakfast though and may not be so clean.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in mid June 2017. I recommend this hotel because the location is convenient for seeing the sights in Marseille as well as excursions to other towns in Provence. We arrived to Marseille via train from Nice and the hotel is a short metro ride from the station. The old port, old town and the two cathedrals are walkable from the hotel. There is convenient shopping nearby as well. The fitness center was adequately equipped with cardio machines but lacks other standard equipment. The free wifi worked well. The room was spacious and comfortable but seemed a bit worn. Kind of reminded us of being on a cruise ship in need of an update. But it seemed clean and we had all we needed. Unlike some earlier reviews, we received outstanding service from the staff at this hotel. Especially Mary at reception who went way out of her way to help us with a luggage issue. Overall we have no regrets and would stay here again.

To start with, the staff is adamant about the way things are at this place. So adamant that it appears to be utterly rude.

#1. No iron in the room.
When i asked for one, i was told that there is an ironing room.
When i asked if they can arrange one for me as an exception (since i was planning to stay there for 3 more weeks. I'm already staying here for 2 weeks)....their answer was "NO"!
The hotel next door IBIS said, they can make any arrangement for me since i was planning to stay for 3 weeks.

#2. NO KITCHEN! Need not say more

#3. Gym is pathetic - don't expect anything from the gym. It was probably on their checklist to be considered as a hotel.

#4. Breakfast - 15 Euros for breakfast. No real breakfast. just snacks, some fruit. raw eggs to be cooked by yourself.

#5. They don't even have proper plates and silverware. Everytime i've to ask for silverware when i got food from outside.
Their natural instinct is to handover plastic spoons/forks.
Plates are paper plates. When i asked for proper plates, the answer was in this hotel we don't provide that.

#6. I was supposed to change my room on a monday. When I enquired about the change the lady at the reception unwantedly gave me a room, and then demanded that i change immediately. i was leaving for office with my office bag and i said i can't do it now.
She replied then i have to stay in the room i'm currently staying at.

#7. If you open the windows of your room, MOSQUITOES will enter

#8. No separate hair dryer available

#9. To wash your hari, body, and everything, they give one gel. When i asked for separate shampoo and conditioner, the receptionist replied, that not hotel policy as this is novotel suites. KIDDING ME?!!

Final verdict:
#1. Non co-operative staff
#2. Really bad facilities for the money they are charging

P.S.: I'm still staying at this hotel for the week while i'm writing this review. But from next trip i'm going to another one for sure.
I do not care much about the facilities, but the sheer non-co-operation of the staff just made this hotel loose a customer that could have stayed over 4 months (my new client is in Marseilles)

Room tip: ask for balcony room. but they prefer to hide it from first time customers for no reason.

Hello,

First of all let us thank you for your comment which will allow us to improve the services provided in our establishment.

We are really sorry if the hotel stantdards do not match your expectations.
We will not go point by point, but we have to admit that some of your complaining points are a part of our DNA. For example, regarding breakfast, it is right that, instead of only offering scrumbled eggs for everyone as a lot of our competitors do, we provide raw eggs so that you can cook it suny side up, boiled or in an omelette... We want our customers to have their breakfast the way they want.
Another example, we do not provide iron in rooms because we do have in our ironing room a steaming central iron, allowing to iron with much more ease, and as a consequence much faster, than the little iron usually provided by our competitors.
We could keep on developping point by point our vision of service.

Thank you again for your feedback and do not hesitate to comme at reception, we will be more than happy to talk and discuss a bit longer with you about our way of satisfying our customers.

Looking forward to haring from you soon.

Best Regards,
