“Great lunch after touring the Colliseum”
Reviewed September 25, 2011

I found this restaurant and selected it absed on the other reviews. It did not disappoint. The service was courteous and the menu diverse. We sat outside and had a great lunch. Highly recommend.

“Booked this restaurant by chance as a...”
Reviewed July 25, 2010

Booked this restaurant by chance as a lunchstop on our way south. Found it easily and was so pleased to have reserved as people were being turned away.
We ordered the formule at 18euros, chilled glass of rose wine was included.
The service was excellent, the food was excellent and the decor was lovely- on a burning summers day ,go inside, we found the terrace a little too warm but that was our choice, it was lovely a perfect break- so perfect I am about to book again for our next southern trip in a fortnight

“A perfect start to an evening at the opera”
Reviewed July 19, 2010

When we forgot to book a table at our usual pre-opera restaurant (Le Parvis) and found it was fully booked we decided to give Au Petit Patio a try. Tip: if you are going to one of the performances at Orange you MUST book your table at Easter for July and August or you will end up taking pot-luck in one of the restaurants which are set up for the festival and are mostly nothing special, or worse.

When we booked, the person who answered the phone was cheerful and helpful, giving us the set meal price and assuring us that there would be a choice of fish or meat.

We ate on the patio which was remarkably tranquil even though there were two large parties. The welcome was friendly and the three waiting staff managed to take orders and serve food and drinks with effortless ease despite the numbers involved, and the fact that almost everyone arrives at the same time.

The set menu at 38 euros included delightful canapés, an excellent foie gras (I saw a couple of vegetarian alternatives being served) followed by beef or our choice of sea bream. This was perfectly cooked and served on a bed of carrot tagliatelli, nicely seasoned and dressed with a saffron emulsion.

Dessert was mint marinated strawberries with a poppy seed tuille and fromage blanc. Coffee was excellent and came with sweet amuses-bouche. From the comprehensive and correctly priced wine-list we chose a white Chateauneuf du Pape. iI turned out to be spot -on.

Service throughout was highly professional but friendly and unhurried and the whole experience made a wonderful start to a great evening - our annual treat to ourselves. We will be back next year if not sooner.

Hint: if going to the theatre, make use of the loos after the main course because wherever you eat in Orange long queues form later on and the facilities in the Roman theatre are - well - basic!
