Unfortunately, I have no good memories of Le Mas des Etoiles.
The list of what you can do or can not do was endless. And I have to agree with the other review, the interference from the management ensures things are less than relaxing.
For example, you can´t eat in the room or anywhere in the house, can´t to use the refrigerator of the house (and the rooms have no refrigerator), no wet feet on the ground...
All rules were printed on a sheet of paper and not in a polite way.
The cleanliness of the rooms was also unsatisfactory. Even after 3 days of accommodation, the towels were not changed and the floor was not clean.

One good recommendation for travelers, before signing-in to Mas des Etoiles is to carefully review the guests comments in Tripadvisor and our 2 websites which give a lot of details and pictures. It comes because of our International reputation we get bookings by people who think we are a 4 stars-hotel and do not know what is really a B&B. There is a confusion. They want everything we don’t have and they do not like what we offer. Opposite cultures and educations. Sometimes the gap cannot be eliminated because of poor communication (Annette and I speak besides French, English, Spanish and Italian, which is rare in France). So there is little we can do. By the way, there are recommendations for having a nice stay here and respect the other parties. They are written in a clean and positive style (for instance, “hook the shutters for the Mistral Provence wind” etc …) Everybody understands it is useful. Also, there is a huge Fridge available to everybody anytime in the summer dining room. But it is not designed to hold supermarket shopping for having at night a full dinner in the bed room. All gourmets know we have the best restaurants just around in walking distances and they put high value on that. Also almost every evening people share with us and new friends their own discoveries of wine, cheese and sausages on the terrace.

We spent a few days this summer with Annette and François. Although François initially made an error with our reservation, he more than made up for it, managing to find us a very comfortable guest room for the problematic first night at impossibly short notice.
After that very comfortable "bridge" evening, we then had the pleasure of taking up residence in our lovely room at the Mas des Etoiles (Vignes). The room was a perfect combination (like the rest of the house) of quality, modern comfort and charming French atmosphere. The pool and garden was one of the most beautiful private landscapes I've been to - "design" but with the flavour of the South of France. Wonderful breakfasts, tranquility, family atmosphere. This said I would not recommend for families with loud, exuberant kids! The vibe here is very much calm and "paisible". One of the nicest B&Bs I've been to.

Aside from the physical perfection of the spot, the hosts were charming and interesting. Our stay left nothing to be desired.

From the time we arrived until we left we had a wonderful time with Francois and Annette. It is a welcoming and quite place that is beautiful. Our son enjoyed the endless hours in the pool with the kids. As it is close to most things in the area it is in a good place for day trips. We will be going back again one day.

Enjoyed our stay at Le Mas des Etoiles. Francois was lovely host, and Annette was attentive and charming. We were with our child and met our very good friends there -
they speak French and are much more at ease -which was helpful for us with a sick child that wk and sadly felt that our hostess thought us too serious. They have a lovely home in a lovely setting. I am an experience traveler from 6* plus to bed n breakfast. Breakfast was yummy for all. Bring all your charm and you will enjoy....might want to remember some soap....

I spent 12 days in France, and the best 3 days were the days that I stayed at Mas des Etoiles. I wished to have Francois and Annette as my grandmother/ father. Beautiful place, very clean, delicius breakfast, very good location, but the best is the happiness athmosphere in the air. Francois answered all my questions by email before the trip, helping me to plann the 3 days, gave me maps and all tips, and made the restaurant reservations. Annette, I wished to have more time to talk to you because I'm sure you have great stories. I will never forget, love, loved, loved! I will be back for sure!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Think twice before making your choice for a B and B !You are going to enjoy our “Chambres d’hôtes de charme”. Gordes is real great place to approach the Luberon Regional Park and most of Provence. For you, we have made it cool: Luxury and still casual. Now it can be classified as a Boutique Hotel. The house itself is stunning : Unique old white stones, a typical Provence garden with all kinds of Mediterranean plants and large views. Of course, the property is in a quiet environment. But it is close from restaurants etc … Decoration is stylish and imaginative, not cold-contemporary as often offered now. Annette has a taste for it. Everything is in tones in pastel, grey and light brown. Comfort is at a high level : Of course a soft air conditioning everywhere, a fair speed WIFi, a salted 12 X 5 swimming pool and many kinds of delicacies. And from 2013, a Pitch and Putt 9 holes golf course just here. ... more   less
