“A bit of heaven in Provence”
Reviewed July 19, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

It was very difficult to leave such a stunning historic stone home. We spent a week with my husband and elderly parents and truly enjoyed a bit of heaven in Provence. It is centrally located in the Luberon in a small quiet hamlet with just a few homes. Many of the hilltop towns, Gordes, Menerbes, Roussillon, etc., are within a half hour car ride. The apartment was immaculate, professionally decorated, and has all the amenities you need. It is spacious with wonderful bathrooms on each floor. The layout is very unique with privacy for both bedrooms. The juxtaposition of the historic stone/wood construction with the modern amenities/furnishings was impressive. The rooftop patio has amazing views!!! The interior patios are gorgeous. The apartment is even more beautiful than the website photos. A very large supermarket and delicious bakeries are less than a 10 minute car ride in Coustellet. Our favorite was Le Fournil d’ Antan. Edvard was so accommodating, responded promptly to emails and provided excellent customer service. His recommendation to attend the Vespers (prayers in song) at the Abbey Notre-Dame de Senanque was the perfect ending to the day. Our stay at Villa Daesch was truly an incredible experience not to be missed!

Thank you very much for those kind words. That's why we want to share this beautiful part in France with others in a world where so much hatred is going on. It was great meeting you and the family. Enjoy the memories!

“What a great place to stay”
Reviewed July 3, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

After getting slightly lost, Edvard one of the owners and our host came to our rescue, and it was all good from there. Here for a week Edvard was a charming host and very attentive.
We stayed in La Maison, which is a 2 bedroom house in a small group of 3.
The stone house dates back to 1629 and is an eclectic mix of age and contemporary influences which work incredibly well.
The owners have filled the house with things that they have personally collected which add to the charm and aesthetic that is so skilfully achieved, and which is a pleasure to be able share.
Spaces are generous and comfortable and everything is clean and well fitted out. One bedroom and bathroom downstairs and one bedroom and bathroom downstairs, both with generously sized and comfortable beds. The upstairs bedroom has a small deck which which sits within and overlooks adjacent ancient rooftops. Really superb.
The kitchen is fantastically well set up and provisioned, so if you enjoy cooking in you've got all you need and more.
There is also a small garden/terrace area at ground level with an outdoor table and chairs and fireplace cooking provision. And a well fitted out laundry room.
The location of Villa Daesch, within the small hamlet of Les Martins, is nicely removed from adjacent towns but still very accessible. Surrounding towns and villages are extensive, and on the whole, beautiful. You ideally do need a vehicle to get around.
And the Provence light is everything they say and everything we expected.
Hats off to Edvard and his partner. They've done a fantastic job and it's a beautiful place to enjoy a holiday or break. We'd certainly like to get back there.

“Shangri La in Provence”
Reviewed October 29, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Amazing place. Amazing area. Centrally located so it's convenient to grocery store, restaurants, places of interest. Located in this little quiet little hamlet. We felt very secure. Owner was accommodating - and the kitchen was well stocked. All you need were groceries. If you rent the villa with another other people - you may have to flip a coin for the room on the 3rd level or just rent the whole villa like we did. It was an incredible view every time you wake up in the morning. I took so many photos of the deck and the view from the deck. See photos.

“Lovely, quiet location!”
Reviewed September 29, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The apartment is very well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed cooking and found the kitchen to be well-equipped. An iPod docking station made listening to your own music enjoyable. A selection of CDs and movies were Provence themed and very much appreciated.
Both bedrooms were spacious and had a bath ensuite with modern facilities.
The rooftop deck was fantastic for sunset. Location was perfect for touring the Luberon valley! Would definitely return!
Mahalo Edvard!

“A real gem of a place”
Reviewed May 26, 2014 for a stay in July 2013

Edvard’s place is a gem! Set in the tiny hamlet of Les Martins within easy reach of all the interesting places but far enough away to be really tranquil. These wonderful old buildings have been renovated with taste and care, sensitively blending the ancient with the modern in a way that feeds your senses as well as your comfort. Edvard was helpful in emails before our arrival, very charming when we met and very welcoming. We could not have wished for more.

“Provencal Delight”

I met friends from Austria in Provence where we found this beautiful old stone homestead in the tiny hamlet of Les Martins. There are three residences contained within high, stone walls; combined they create the place the owners have named Villa Daesch. According to the marriage stone, our house dated from the 1600's; it was elevated to the 2nd floor, up an ancient flight of stone steps.
We shared a beautiful courtyard with the main house and the other rental residence. Most of the time, we had the courtyard to ourselves, enjoying the garden and covered outdoor eating area. The residence had an open floor plan between the kitchen and living area. The bedrooms each had their own full bathroom and were well separated from each other, affording privacy. The third floor sleeping area even has a private rooftop terrace with dining seating.
Beyond its wonderful design and decor, Villa Daesch is well located as a home base for touring Le Luberon and all of Provence.

“Charming, well equipped give with excellent hosts”
Reviewed February 3, 2014 for a stay in July 2013

The accommodation is spacious, tastefully decorated and well equipped. It enjoys a quiet location but is well situated for exploring attractive nearby villages that are popular with tourists. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. The communal areas shred with the hosts and the 2 other apartments available for rent are private and pleasant and, if you don't like sharing the communal space the gite has reasonable privacy with a quiet rooftop terrace. Plenty of nearby shops and local markets with large towns like Avignon within reasonable proximity. Since my wife and I rented the give for just the two of us it was a little expensive but the rates are more reasonable if shared by 4.
