“Great place, great hosts”
Reviewed September 14, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This is one of the nicest places we have been in the last years. A very beautiful apartment, a terrace with great views, a wonderful old house. We especially liked the tastful inventory of the apartment. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We fully recommend this apartment!
Caromb is a nice village, not as touristic as many places in the Provence.

“A delightful slice of French culture”
Reviewed August 30, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The apartment was delightful with lots of character.
Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming we had a guided tour of Veil hopital and Ian and Axelle explained the history of the building and surrounding area. They have made a lovely home.We were treated as house guests and felt very relaxed for the whole weeks stay. The beds were comfortable and the apartment reflects the influence of the artists who exhibit at Veil Hopital. The town of Caromb and the surrounding countryside and villages are delightful and very near to Bedouin which is the mecca for cyclists aiming to ride up Mont Ventoux. We would thoroughly recommend a stay there with or without bicycles.

“Welcoming, inspiring, an experience that embraces your soul”
Reviewed August 23, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

If you like to read, relax, drink wine and eat great local produce , listening to music in a gentle setting that heals your soul while inspiring your inner artist, then beat a path to Viele Hopital. Your hosts Axelle and Ian make feel you at home from the outset, whilst the house strips away the stress from our everyday lives. There is not a single wall, ceiling, alcove, whether in the chill-out cellar, numerous hidden gardens or terrace overlooking classical Provence landscape, with Mont Ventoux in the background, that will fail to awake your sense of light, smell, taste, touch and sound. This house makes you feel you are in a magic place where time moves slower than the rest of the world. We are smitten.

“Highly recommended for your mind, body & soul”
Reviewed July 17, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

If you are looking for a unique place to stay in the French sunshine, away from all the hustle & bustle of everyday life, surrounded by beautiful scenery this is the defiantly the place for you .

The most beautiful historic building with such a sense of peace and tranquillity that you feel calm and relaxed the moment you walk through the door.

Axelle & Ian are in our opinion the perfect hosts, openly kind, friendly & welcoming, present if you need anything from where to go for a quick bite to eat to a bit of local historic knowledge or they are also equally discreetly absent so you can go about day in which ever way you choose.

We stayed for one week in the top apartment which has a private secluded terrace, over looking the village roof tops into the distance to the mountains. I found this the perfect place for hours of endless relaxing sun bathing on the giant bean bags, reading or just gazing into the distance.

The bedroom was characteristically French rustic with a romantic quality added by the décor & furnishings with the finishing touch of French doors with wooden shutters opening onto the inner court yard.

The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to rustle up breakfast, lunch or spot of dinner. Also there is a lovely bakery 5 minute walk away from the apartment for fresh bread and pastries.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay dividing our time between resting & relaxing in the apartment and exploring the local area. Such as driving to the top of the Mountain (most people seem to cycle but I'm afraid we were not that adventurous) the views were wonderful. We drove 20 minutes to Avignon City Centre for a spot of shopping and to see the bridge. Plenty of little shops to buy some local crafts, honey, chocolate and souvenirs, as well as some quite unusual, but highly entertaining street theatre.
