We had a fabulous stay in Villefrance sur Mer and the loft apartment was everything we could have hoped for and more! Perfect location on the waterfront in the old village overlooking the picturesque bay and an easy stroll to the beach and train and a great selection of restaurants and cafes. The apartment was quiet and spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed with lovely luxurious touches and it contained everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The views from the terrace were stunning and we spent many hours gazing over the bay and watching the comings and goings below. Suzie was wonderful and easy to deal with prior to our holiday and Mollie who manages the apartment was a delight and greeted us warmly when we arrived and supplied excellent detailed local information as well as being only a text away if we had any questions during our stay. We would return in a heartbeat!
The apartment was excellent, right on the sea front . The apartment was very well equipped with everything you could need .It was very clean and full of character with beams in the roof . The view from the balcony was amazing. The apartment was well placed for shops , restaurants, and rail and bus links .would recommend this property. A true gem of a find and we hope to return in the future.
My GF and I were looking for a perfect getaway spot in the French Riviera .... and we found it! The penthouse loft is perfect for anyone visiting Villefranche. Its perfectly located in the center of town with tons of restaurants and amenities within walking distance. The beach is a 5 min walk away. The views from the top floor loft were amazing and overlooked the bay. It was extremely well equipped inside and really caters to any kind of traveler whether you want to eat out or cook for yourself. Combine all the great amenities with a property manager like Molly you really can't beat it. Molly was there to greet us and help us find the loft and was available at anytime if we had any questions. She also had some great ideas on things to do in the area. It was truly an unforgettable vacation and the loft and Molly were a big reason for that.
My wife and I just returned from a week in Villefranche, a lovely and charming French village we’ve visited every few years since 1999. It is the perfect “base of operations” from which to grab the train or bus to explore the Riviera. Yes, we’re very lucky.
We’ve always stayed in rented apartments when in France. We usually travel with friends – each of us taking our own flat – though we’ve shared two-bedroom apartments – and swapping off dinner throughout the week. We value the privacy, the economy and freedom renting an apartment affords.
We just got back from our latest Riviera jaunt – like I said, we’re lucky – and were fortunate enough to have rented Scott and Suzie's Seafront Penthouse Loft. It was the absolute perfect apartment for us.
First of all, it’s modern, it's got everything you could wish for, particularly if you’re American, and it’s cute as heck. My wife and I loved it. Yes, it’s a loft – good sized, with a separate large bed area that can be screened, living/dining room, kitchen, shower/bathroom and lav with laundry. My wife and I were thrilled with the space, the view and the rate.
Some on this site have carped about the space being an “attic,” and yes, the ceilings slope a bit in places and there are beams to which attention must be paid, but ultimately, all of that is part of the charm.
There’s a lovely balcony – yes, a real balcony, not where the roof ends – that overlooks the harbor, Cap Ferrat and the Mediterranean, and it’s a million-dollar view. The location is a five-minute walk from the center of old town in one direction or the train station in the other. Does it have a posh lobby? No, but it’s a building of privately owned and beautifully maintained apartments. The lobby is nice, clean and functional, i.e. it gets you from the harbor-side front door to the elevator nicely. There's also a rear entrance that can save you time in running to the Casino or boulangerie, or heading over to grab a train to Cannes.
If you rent the Seaside Loft, you're also very fortunate to get Molly A as the apartment agent in the deal. She’s the person who gets you the keys and can arrange transport from/to the airport, as well as handle any crisis that might come up. An American who’s lived in Nice and managed properties in Villefranche for over 20 years, she’s a sweetie, she’s a pro – answering any question or recommending any restaurant or service – and she’s got a seriously cute dog and reliable cab connections (be sure to ask for Julien).
The Seaside Penthouse Loft is a lovely, charming, reasonably priced, outstandingly located loft apartment. The big test for us is always whether we’d rent the place again – the answer is a resounding “yes," without question.
My wife and I stayed at the apartment in January and had an enjoyable experience. The apartment is well equipped; the view is wonderful; and, access to the train is very easy. The apartment is well managed with an informative book and an offer to assist at anytime. The apartment is also well situated for the beach, which would be more useful at other times of the year. When we return to Villefranche sur mer, this will be at the top of my list as potential vacation rentals.
We had a fantastic time! The property was perfect and as we had hoped from looking at the pictures. Very clean, and amazing location for the beach, train and town.
