we had the impression that the hotel was near the beach it is not it is quite high up and if you do not like walking do not go there...the walk from the station uphill is about 15 minutes with luggage , we caught the 80 bus up the hill...the views are outstanding on the top at the reception and they also have a lovely pool area, the lift is very small and can be claustrophobic although works very well, the welcome is ok and the restaurant did not open on monday and tuesday...the rooms are nothing to brag about, not very small but very 1-2 star...with a balcony with sea views on the 1st and 2nd floor.
the person who was very friendly was the housekeeper natalie who was very nice and made us feel welcome, the hotel management were ok ...the rooms and sheets were clean, the shower is a sit on the bath one..with no curtain..
Dogs are allowed at this hotel we were very unlucky to have a room between two doggy customers so was often awakened at 5am by barking .
if you like walking , and if you have a car this hotel is fine..there is a parking area outside..and a bus station to Nice, monaco just a few yards down the road.
however for seniors who are not happy with hills...its a nono...

Room Tip: ist and 2nd floors for good views

An average 3* hotel with lovely swimmimg pool and terraces. All rooms have extensive views over the bay and Cap Ferrat. We were rather disappointed with our room which was very basically furnished and no wardrobe, only a rail on which to hang clothes. The en suite bathroom was OK but not very private as it was behind a glass screen with no door or window and did not have an extractor fan. There was no informatoin in the room re the hotel or places to visit, altough the staff were helpful and obliging.
The meals in the hotel were quite expensive with breakfast at E15 and dinner E44 but there are many good reasonably priced restaurants in the old town about 10 mins walk away. However, there are many steps to and from the old town seafront / harbour so anyone with mobility problems would have difficulty.
The situation of the Hotel is very convenient for travelling along the French Riviera with busses between Nice and Monaco passing the door every 10 mins and costing E1 anywhere.
Taking everything into consideration we enjoyed our stay and will return.

Room Tip: As the Hotel is on a hill the reception is floor Zero and the floors are numbered downwards from 1 to 4 . With 4 having limited views.

This hotel was recommended by friends who has stayed there before. The location is great with a wonderful terrace for post-beach or pre-dinner drinks, and even dinner as the food is quite good. I was there at the end of August, and we never had problems parking which also made the stay very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk, to breakfast and dinner waiters and bar tenders. The room itself, left something to be desired, but I think that you will find this in all the hotels in the area, except maybe the most expensive, Hotel Welcome (which owns Le Versailles). I had a "grand lit" (which was smaller than my queen size bed at home, but that does not bother me) and a bath and balcony overlooking the Villefranche harbor. Room Pros: The sheets and towels were clean, the balcony was a lovely addition (beautiful view from the 2nd floor), although small, the bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked (not too high, but comfortable). Room Cons: the bathtub could use re-glazing (get a room with a shower if you don't like "telephone" baths), inside of closets need to be re-painted, walls in the hallway to the rooms needs to be re-painted and sometimes the carpet is not vacuumed well. The breakfast is decent (good espresso, good mini croissants, fruit, yogurt, etc), but if you don't eat a big breakfast, I would suggest going to the harbor which will be just as good, and cost you less.
Overall, all the three star hotels are the same price, and believe this offers the most space and best amenities. Although a bit expensive, you are in Provence in the summer and should expect to pay more.

Room Tip: Book early, ask for a top floor and balcony overlooking the bay (hotel is build into a cliff, so ground floor is 0 and bottom floor is 4)

Felt the room was lacking in some attention to detail - e.g bathroom door wouldnt stay closed, a higher shower head holder would be welcome, tissue box holder in bedroom is grubby & should be replaced. Blackout curtains in the bedroom would also be a nice addition. The restaurant and lounge area is very nice and the view is amazing. Food in restaurant was very good, but some of the staff in the restaurant should be more polite.
