“Welcome indeed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013

Don't be put off by the crowds of people you will see mulling about in Villefranche-sur-Mer when you get to this lovely hotel. You'll still feel like you have your own little corner of the Riveria thanks to the people at Hotel Welcome. The staff, especially the kind and efficient Oliver, is wonderful and live up to the Welcome. They take you in and settle you, help you with your car, explain the ebb and flow of the cruise ship tourists coming in and out, and direct you to the trains, buses, restaurants and sea. On a three week visit to France and Spain, this stop was the best of our trip. The only issue-and it is actually a small one-is the room size. Perhaps not all of the rooms are this small, but ours was very small, but the wonderful view of the sea made it all worthwhile. (That's why I gave it an overall excellent, in spite of the value and room ratings.)When you think of going to the Riveria, this is the idea that pops up in your head.

Room Tip: See if you can get one of the larger rooms.

Great location in one of the most picturesque towns on the French Riviera. Friendly, informative & welcoming staff. We had a great room on the top floor. Only slight negative was parking being a bit of a pain in the nearest, busy local marina car park... Book hotel in advance for best rates.

Excellent location. Well managed hotel. Reception staff very helpful and attentive to all enquiries. On arrival given a lower floor room spacious and large balcony but could not really appreciate the view the hotel affords. No problem moved to a higher floor - superb view of the harbour. Stayed for 8 nights. Did not have breakfast in hotel but frequented the Vin Bar at sunset - very special. The only drawback was no on site parking but public parking available close by. Would certainly recommend hotel as a base for touring the Côte d'Azur

Room Tip: A high floor superior room with balcony

My husband picked this place and I was worried about spending so much for only one night while driving thru the area...and once I got there I was so glad he had chosen this place. The gals at the front desk were so kind and laid back, spoke wonderful English, and were very welcoming. The bed was comfortable and the balcony was enchanting with the view. We even left some clothes in the closet, and the gentleman at the front desk is taking care of sending it onto us at our next stop - what great service! The town is very sweet and the people very nice, I can't wait until I can return!

Room Tip: Probably higher floor is better for the view and any possible noise, although the door to the balcon...

Lovey hotel located on the harbor of Villefranche. Stayed 8 nights in April with great weather. Hotel offers breakfast and is a Vin Bar at other times of the day. We didn’t hear any noise. Our room was with a balcony facing the harbor and was very comfortable. The bathroom has a bath with shower over it. Soaps and shampoos are provided. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Second time we have stayed and will be staying again in September (hopefully!).

Room Tip: Ask for room with a balcony, worth the extra.

We had an amazing stay here starting with the front desk. Everyone at Hotel Welcome was exceptionally kind and helpful. The location is superb. You can walk anywhere. The view is phenomenal. Definitely the best hotel to stay in while in this region of the south of France. Can't wait to return!
