My wife and I stayed two nights at the Hotel Saint Michel and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is high up on the Corniche overlooking Villefranche bay and about 20 minutes drive from Nice and a little more to Monaco. The views from the hotel itself and from the lookout spot just up the road are terrific. We had a car and there was very convenient free parking in the hotel grounds. Free wifi in the rooms was also available. This is a family run hotel and the lady owner was extremely nice. We much enjoyed chatting to her. She has just completed a renovation of the main part of the hotel which is clearly going to look very good. We stayed in the annex, which was just fine: comfy bed, balcony, great view. There's a local bus into Nice and to Monaco although we drove into both and parked without difficulty. We also drove down the Corniche into Villefranche where there are many restaurants near the harbour. We just had crepes and coffee there which was lovely. The Hotel Saint Michel was excellent value and very friendly and we would certainly stay there again if we were travelling in the region.

Room Tip: Worth asking for a balcony

This is a very good value 2 Star hotel just off the Grande Corniche.Very useful for the Cote d`Azure.Good size rooms and nice owners. It has a large clean pool but you should bring your own swimming towels, also extra soap.I also suggest investing in a SatNav if you dont have one as the road system is complicated.Serves a good breakfast.

This hotel is a treasure in every respect. Quiet, clean, nature all around. Taken all the hype around this coast, this hotel is the perfect place to stay if you wish to relax at the modern, clean pool, have your breakfeast in the garden, travel the Coast, take a swim at one of the small and clean beaches, choose a nice place to dine in the evening or enjoy the breathtaking view - over the coast all the way to Nice and Antibes - from the near park benches. You will feel like the kind of the world with noone else around but you. Surprised? The hotel is family run since generations and the family defends this diamond environment against all speculations. You better take a car to get to nearby Villefranche sur Mer, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat .

I have to agree, an absolutely hidden gem. Very very polite Family which runs the hotel and the Rooms were spotless.
Service of Wifi and perfect french breakfast for low price. By car it's only a stonethrow from the Hotel to Monaco and you'll pass some more hidden cities in the hill's who remind you to stop buy and have a look around. Wether you go for a walk or a bike ride or want to discover the area by car, the Saint Michel is one of the best places to start your Tour. Rooms for up to 4 People allow you to safe some more Money on the trip and if you want to you could book a kitchen aswell.
