“A wonderful hotel and restaurant in the heart of Vence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2009

We loved Vence and the service and food was second to none especially at this hotel.
Located in the walls of the "Old Town" and within easy walking distance to many other superb restaurants that Vence has to offer.

This is a great little hotel right in the middle of the old town of vence. The people who run it are the friendlist people - lots of personal little touches, flowers in the room and a very warm welcome.

the location is fantastic - our room overlooked one of the little squares of the old town. and the view from the other side was amazing. one word of warning - given the location in an old town and overlooking a square with bars and restaurants it can get noisy but it is a price worth paying for the location

there is parking outside for 3 cars, if not then there is a paid parking place 100m away.

the owners have a cat and a dog.

We had a lovely stay last weekend,it is ideally situated in the old town, with a cosy restaurant where we dined on both nights.Sandrine the owner with her Mother were most helpful and friendly especially as I have special dietry requirements for gluten free food.

My partner and I loved this place. I agree with the previous points made: it's a great value for money. Super clean. The managers are welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

After we saw this hotel on Trip Advisor we booked it immediately and we weren't disappointed! Not only is the room very good but the people are lovely, frindly, and helpful. The room is the spickest spanniest(?) cleanest room EVER - we caught them cleaning on day and there were 2 ladies working their socks off. The restaurant is fabulous - the food is very high class and we can recommend the gourmet 42 Euros a head meal (5 courses plus). The hotel is conveniently located in Vence which is lovely for sightseeing and walks. our hot tip - we skipped a hire car and caught the Bus from Nice centre and back to nice Airport - one euro a time!! There was no problem leaving baggage in the hotel the day we left. Recommend a walk down to St. Paul!

When you see a Vence (a tourist destination) hotel in Tripadvisor ranked # 1 with a cost of 65 euros a night it gets your attention. We booked for one night during the week. The hotel lives up to its very positive reviews. But it is not a hotel for everybody. If you want a flat screen TV', a pool, and a large terrace overlooking the sea this is not the hotel for you. As noted in the other reviews this is an old buidling in the center of the old part of Vence. Very charming with lots of character. The rooms are small, but our bathroom had a good-sized shower. Our room was right on the square which had about 10 restaurants, but with the window closed we were not disturbed. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, but were advised by others that it is very good. Breakfast was more than adequate, and in our case included in the price of the room.
I can appreciate the criticism that the hotel is difficult to find if you are unfamiliar with Vence, but it is located in the very center of town 50 feet from a large underground parking lot. I would characterize the Auberge as a great hotel for some, but not all.

I spent a week at this lovely auberge this past spring with my mother. The rooms and the hotel restaurant are located in a wing of 400 year old castle on the outskirts of the historic part of Vence. We stayed in the Dufy room (all the rooms are named after painters who once stayed there) which was very large and had two single beds. The room had two big windows that opened up to a great view of the mountainside. While the room was traditional shabby chic- everything was extremely clean. The owners also put fresh flowers and fruit in our room everyday!

The family that owns the auberge is warm and attentive. They had no problem giving us directions, advice etc. throughout our entire stay. The auberge also has a wonderful restaurant attached. A pre-fix dinner costs about 40 euros- and it was worth every penny. You can pay an additional 9 euros for a breakfast consisting of coffee, tea, juice, fresh granola, yogurt, prunes, croissants, French bread, butter, and jam.

If your looking for a quiet place to stay during a visit to the Cote d'Azur, Auberge des Seigneurs is a great place to go. Vence is centrally located between Nice and a wide range of beautiful mountain villages. It was a great jumping off point for seeing the whole area. The Auberge was a fantastic value (much better than anything you'll find in Nice) and I plan on returning in the very near future.
