We stayed 3 nights visiting Nice, Cannes and surrounding areas. The hotel is located in a quiet area. The room was good in size and comfortable. The breakfast and pool were good. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We would stay here again.

Recently had two separate stays at the Novotel Sophia Antipolis while travelling on Business.

The location is good in Sophia Antipolis - as good as a location in Sophia can be. It's pretty far from everything, so you definitely need a car. But with a car you reach all offices in the area within minutes and you can of course also conveniently drive to Nice, Cannes and the likes. Just don't expect anything within the immediate area.

Having stayed twice in a short time, the hotel showed a bit differnet faces every time.

The room overall was good every time, comfortable bed, good access to power outlets, free water in the room and everything clean and in working condition. For the first stay I had a top floor room overlooking the pool - nice and quite, which seemed to have a renovated bathroom with a great walk-in shower - very nice. On the second stay I only had the choice between groundfloor poolside or top floor parking lot side. Chose the higher floor as I really don't like groundfloor rooms. Obviously not as quiet and nice and strangely the bathroom was really worn with a terrible shower (tub combinaton). Not all of the bathrooms seem to have been remodelled. So not so nice the second time but still acceptable.

Service was good and friendly though again somewhat less good the second time. Made me wait one morning for about 10 minutes before someone even came to the bar only to forget me for another 15 minutes before I had the chance to remind the next person showing up I had obviously been forgotten. Not a biggie - but also not really an "Express" breakfast. The restaurant was good with very nice choices.

So overall a quite good stay the first time with a somewhat less good stay the second time round. I guess that makes it overall avergage - though also maybe a bit unstable.

Final point: If you are a member of their "Le Club" loyalty programme don't expect too much (or really anything). Platinum recognistion was basically non-existent - even had to specifically request the welcome drink voucher for the second stay.

Bonjour

The hotel is situated in a quiet and pleasant setting, it has a bar, a restaurant and a nice terrace and pool area, rooms are O.K. and well looked after but they are nothing fantastic, and upstairs there is wood chip wall paper everywhere! I would agree its a little bit too far out of the way, and with no shops or restaurants nearby its very easy to run up a large bar bill and go slightly stir crazy in the process. Don't get excited about the mini bar in the bedroom it contains two bottles of water. A small hotel shop or even just the odd vending machine would be a great addition to this hotel.

Thank you to have shared your satisfaction and we hope to welcome you on a future stay.

Concerning the mini bar, we offer 2 bottles of water in each room. We will also inform the ACCOR group about the possibility for Novotel to have some machine to sell additionnal products.

Sophia Antipolis is an area of high tech industry, located in a wooded area above Antibes, so not an obvious place to pick for a holiday hotel. The businesses are generally low rise offices well spaced out amongst the trees.

The advantage is that the hotels offer a reasonably priced alternative to staying in Antibes or Juan les Pins. At the Novotel, we stayed in a modern hotel, with a good sized room and a nice pool for significantly less than we paid in a previous year for a small hotel in Juan les Pins, that would rank as just a moderate seaside guest house in the UK . Next time we come here, we would happily return to the Novotel.

On the downside, this is not the most modern Novotel I have stayed in, but it was perfectly acceptable. There are no restaurants nearby, so you do need to drive into Juan les Pins, or eat at the hotel. One tip would be that if you go into Juan les Pins to eat in the evening, go early to find a parking place.

The hotel is generally fine: a little out of the way perhaps but Sophia Antipolis itself a bit remote. It had several good points: room was good, and well-sized, breakfast was ample and varied, wifi signal (even for the complimentary version) was strong and speed was OK, restaurant is nice and not really overpriced. Reception staff were helpful and in general spoke English well. However, there were several negatives: toiletries in the room were minimal (shampoo, shower gel and soap), no shower cap for example. The complimentary tea/coffee comes with paper cups rather than ceramic. When you sign in to the complimentary wifi, although it promises wifi for 6 hours, it keeps logging you out (and I could not detect a pattern -- it happened even when I was active). Pool is tiny. Room is a little tired. As a result, even with no obvious or major faults, I find it difficult to give 5* -- fine if you have to stay in it, but not worth making a detour for it.

We stayed there this August for 2 nights with 3 kids. Very difficult to find, event with GPS (in fact, we had even several!). Once in the place, you really have the feeling that the hotel is for business and sports, with a huge tennis domain. The main swimming pool has event the shape of a tennis racket. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated, but with some small repair needs. Breakfast was twice disappointing, with poorly briefed seasonal ladies. The restaurant was much more interesting, with a short menu but inventive dishes. Overall service was ok and we would come back to this place to visit the nice villages in the area.
