“Good simple food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

A place with no ambiance but really good food and exellent quality.
Try the bar , the traditional aioli , la creme brule, la tarte tatin - divine.
When you don't know where to go , go to L'Olive. You will wait along the street ten minutes - it's alway complete - but then you won't regret.

“L'Olive at Braderie time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

We've been to L'Olive many times and in fact it's a family favourite as my parents have also been visiting the restaurant over the years. The family run kitchen always serves good quality, locally sourced, good value food. It's popular so best to book during the Summer and Festivals. Be patient as service can take its time as we discovered during the recent Braderie visit when we had to wait for 45 minutes despite booking our table. All in all a good experience from people who care about food.

“Buy with mixed opinions”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

We booked lunch at this restaurant on market day in St Tropez; I suspect a reservation is essential most days. A lot of people who had not booked were queuing for tables, including some who stood for an hour or more just a couple of feet from our table - no pressure, then!

The atmosphere was good and the service excellent (telephone booking was extremely well handled). Mains and starters were pretty good although some of the fish was overcooked and served with brown rice which is not everyone's cup of tea. Desserts were OK but slightly disappointing. Overall, this was a reasonable value-for-money lunch.

“Good value for your money”

Very friendly staff, good food, decent prices. Very accomodating towards families with children. They make you feel very welcome. Very popular so booking a table in advance is recommended!

“Always pleasant to eat at L'Olive!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

My first visit was in August 2012, and the second one was on August 2013. Both times we went with friends (a company of 5 last year and of 4 this year). The food is really nice: well cooked, tasty and well served. The prices are a nice surprise too! I got the menu with a salad for starter, cannelloni for main dish and ice cream for desert, all for 19 euros.

Now to the bad. The place, although beautiful and nicely decorated, is crammed. The table are very close to each other and not very comfortable. The toilets are also very-very small and to get there you have to go to the first floor via the very narrow ladder. Also, the alcool is expensive. 4 euros for 250ml draft beer. 4 euros also for the herbal tea (!). Without these, I would happily give the restaurant 4.5/5 stars.
