“Fabulous room!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

We stayed here for 5 nights in September. When we arrived, I wasn't very sure about the hotel, as it was so different from our previous hotel.
We spent a bit more money for a suite, and it was well worth it! The room was superb! Huge sitting room and bedroom, two bathrooms - one was a small shower room, and the othe was a huge double bathroom with a very good shower and a jacuzzi bath. Two separate toilets, and two enormous wardrobes. A lovely balcony overlooking the sea.
This is a very popular hotel with the locals as well as guests. The very famous nightclub was far enough away for us not to be disturbed.
The resteraunt is below the hotel, on the street level, and serves good modern food on a lovely tree covered terrace.
Each evening we walked down to the main square and watched the games of boule and then window shopped our way to the marina to look at the HUGE boats!
St. Tropez has worked its magic on us, and so did The Byblos. We are returning next year.
Just remember though, this is NOT a cheap place, you need very deep pockets!

Room Tip: Pay for the best you can afford, it's worth it!

We have stayed in this hotel on a yearly basis and have always liked it but noticed that this year, it was starting to look dated. The beds are getting old and not nearly as comfortable as before--sagging a bit in the middle. Similarly, the paint needs updating and the service is not as great as in the past where they really catered to your every need. We had too many service hiccups this year, particularly on checkin and checkout. Other issues: The hotel has a free shuttle to the beach. The shuttle is supposed to run every 15 min or so but we inevitably had to wait upwards of 40 min for it this year. The concierge's recommendations seemed to be geared more towards high end places where the food wasn't so good rather than honoring our request for good food and laid back atmosphere. On the more positive side, there is a very good breakfast, the restaurant around the pool really caters to all requests and has terrific drinks and the location of the hotel is great. The spa is also very nice with great services. I still think this is a good hotel but I think they need to get back to their A game.

We came over to St Tropez for the day and decided to try the hotel restaurant for lunch. We ate by the pool and although the lunch for 4 was euro 360 it was a price that was worth paying. The food was superb, and this was just the 'simple' menu du jour? Staff were relaxed and friendly and although we weren't obviously the 'smart set' we were treated with respect and care.
We decided on the strength of this experience to have a look at the rooms for a potential 30th anniversary visit next year - the alternative is the Grand Hotel St Gens de Luz, near Biarritz - and they looked rather small and disappointing for the price, but the location, staff, the food and ambience will make the choice difficult.

Room Tip: Over the weekend the rooms over the disco are very noisy, but you are warned about this by the recep...

Beautiful hotel, rooms and pool. If you are in the mood to play on your trip this is a fantastic place to stay. We would love the opportunity to stay here again. Spoon, their restaurant is excellent too.

Room Tip: If you are very noise sensitive, you may want to ask to be far away from the night club.

The hotel was good and ritzy, but the disco was crowded and included some cheap, low-class people. Those without a platinum credit card should not be allowed in. Such a posh hotel hotel, with nice rooms and pool and above all a good location in downtown St. Tropez. Some gigolos spoil the picture occasionally, but there are still enough real men to rub shoulders with.

This hotel is so appropriate for st tropez because it's so flashy very ritzy but fun we stayed 5 nights and had great fun perfect location friendly staff providing shuttle service to the beach clubs it was my husbands bday and they treated us to breakfast and champagne the room had fresh flowers and the bed was very comfy the b bar made great drinks and breakfast was decent but they are so over priced I suggest eating lunch elsewhere nonetheless very fun atmosphere large pool area but always try to reserve a lounge chair early cause they get swooped up quickly it's nightclub is suppose to be one of the most famous in Europe we went had fun but the drinks were terrible and the dj was playing many dated tunes but we made the best of it anyway end of the story is this is a very pricey hotel but if your going to visit st tropez do I the Byblos way

The hotel is in a great location. Suites are nice but basic bedrooms are disappointing. Short drive to beach clubs.

Room Tip: Do not bother with basic room
