In my (20 years) experience, La Renaissance is at the top as quality/price ratio in Saint-Raphael. Not the best, but the best considering price, food and setting combined. The narratives I hear here from disappointed visitors resonate with things that can happen to you in almost any restaurant on the Riviera: I could tell you similar horror stories occurred to me in 2-star places in Cannes, Mougins, Nice. And yes, service can be occasionally... less than impeccable (as almost everywhere in France), but you will survive it. Pick from the fixed-price menus or from the fresh seafood counter, and you'll be happy, for little money.
