“Brilliant hotel close to everything”

We stayed here for one night en route to Port Grimaud for our holiday. It was a fab hotel, the owners were really really welcoming and kind. They recommended a fantastic restaurant across the road (best seafood spaghetti ever). The rooms were air conditioned, clean and quiet and we all had a really good nights sleep. It was easy walking for us to catch the ferry the next day to st tropez and then on to port grimaud. All in all a great hotel :)

We had the worst experience with this hotel! We booked through venere.com and arrived at the hotel to extremely rude owners. their info on the site is completely false- they do not have parking at all, we had to find it ourselves on the street. secondly they made a huge deal out of us not having indicated that we are 3 people- we are a couple with a small baby (we had our own crib too). they charged us 15 euros extra for our baby (weve travelled with him several times and this is the first time this has happened). the owners were extremely rude and condensending about our stay the entire time. our hotel room ended up being way more expensive than what we originally thought we would pay and parking was not included. i would never come back here or recommend this place to anyone.

Room Tip: just dont come here!

This hotel is owned by a very lovely couple who show you around very well in the hotel when you arrive. The room was clean and very nicely decorated (as was the rest of the hotel, with pop art paintings). The hotel is quite close to the beach and the station and the town is definitely worth the visit.

Rating of 4 instead of 5 because the stairs are a bit high, the neighbourhood a bit noisy and the breakfast was not totally our taste. BUT very good value for money and we will definitely take this hotel in consideration when we are in the area again.

I stayed here after a friend of the families recommendation. My family speak fluent French, though I am more an observer than conversationalist so this added great balance.

Situated on a main street naturally there is the noise of passing traffic, but as it is not by the main eateries or bars this is the only noise and with double glazed windows it was a noise I only noticed if I tried to. I slept soundly and enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast of breads and preserves and heaps of coffee served over 2hours.

The most striking thing about the B&B (after the bright decor) is the wonderful hospitality of the 2 owners. They were keen to hear all about our travels and plans whilst sharing with us their travel experiences and dreams for the B&B. They really are putting their heart and soul into the place. By the time we came to leave we felt like old friends, which is what I think sets any B&B apart from your hotels and hostels.

Bad points: Well you have to wait for the hot water in the shower to run through, but it is a modern en-suite with sensible appliances and good use of space. Speaking French helps.

Good points: Free unlimited wifi. Excellent hospitality. Comfy bed. Clean and tidy. Great location. Cheap secure parking. And a great nights sleep. I will be certain to stay here again if I manage to get back to the French Riviera ... fingers crossed for next year!

Positives - Hotel has been refurbished in nice colours , with air con and small plasma tv's. It is 200M to station and town and 400M to beach. It was clean and the hosts (apart from comment below) were good but only spoke French.

Negatives - Room only had a small rail to hang clothes and a small table no chairs , bedside table , so no where to put your belongings ( we stayed 5 days). It is very noisy as only single glazed and shutters removed so light flooded room from sunrise. The hotel is over 4 floors and no lift.

Family Negative - we were told on the last day that there is strickly "no eating" in the room and a sign in English was added by the entrance door! We have a young child and this is not possible . We were concerned with bringing sand back from the beach and the few crumbs of food was minimal compared to sand it did seem over the top and left a negative towards the hotel.

Sum up - If you don't mind the traffic noise and you want a good central location at a decent price for the town rather than a romantic view it is worth considering albeit would not recomend the rooms for families.

Hope that is of use!
Paul , Rachel & Sinead.

The hotel has been thoughly renovated and is clean and well presented and only 5 minutes walk to the station . The rooms are on the small side but have everything you need. The owners are a lovely couple although speak very little english but managed to understand my little french. However this is the worst nights sleep I have ever had , probably getting no more than an hour over the course of the evening. It is on the corner of a very busy road and once the traffic had quietened to maybe 1 car every 20 minutes (which in some ways was worst then the constant noise) the dustbin carts were coming by and stopping, we had been worried about not getting up in time for our early train but there was no risk of that. My husband even commented that I was sleeping better on the train seat than I had done all night
