Luc Tombeur was an exceptional host who really added to our enjoyment of the 2 weeks spent in St Paul. He thoroughly deserves his loyal following and all the acolades in previous reviews. The apartment reflects his own charming character, both of which were at the heart of this attractive village. We highly recommend it.

We spent 5 days in the exquisitely appointed Gingko apartment. This accommodation surpassed all of our expectations, including a spray of flowers, fresh fruit, food and wine to begin our or visit. Croissants and Baguettes were personally delivered by Luc at 9am each morning. With extra maps and brochures for the days adventure. And of course Wookie, the town doggie mascot was there to great us each day with his clever smile. Luc took us on a tour of the walled city and we learned more than if we had hired a special guide. Everything you read here is absolutely true. Unparalleled hospitality in a class of its own. You would not want to miss this extraordinary opportunity!

I was on a personal "soul vacation" looking for inspiration and relaxation, and Maison aux Bonsais far surpassed all of my expectations. The Ginkgo suite was the perfect size, at half the cost of a hotel room, and yet provided unquantifiable value to my stay. From rustic stone floors to arched doorways to antique decorations, the look and feel of the property holds true to the medieval origins of the village, but also has touches of modern art and (more importantly) modern conveniences. Luc, the owner, is a gracious and generous host who does everything imaginable to make your stay perfect - fresh flowers, fresh fruit, locally baked croissants every morning, stocked kitchen and bath, personal tour of the village, etc. St Paul de Vence is a magical place, and every day I wandered about finding new treasures around every corner. At the end of a beautiful day, Maison aux Bonsais was the perfect place to rest and prepare for the next day's adventure!

To wake up in Saint Paul de Vence as the sun is rising and walk the narrow streets gives you a strong connection to this magical village. Sounds an smells of a small community waking up to greet a new day!
The accommodation is Art in itself. A centuries old setting with modern conveniences. A perfect host who really makes the stay more a one of kind experience. This is not just a place to sleep. You will fall asleep easily perhaps with the windows open wide and a view of the starry sky. No mosquitoes! Wake up to hot Pain Chocolat or Croissants. As the days and nights tick by you have to prepare yourself for the inevitable. The hardest part of staying in one of these suites is leaving. But you will feel gifted to have had the experience and have met Luc. Enjoy!
Luc is a Perfect Host. He is a very kind, gentle and generous man. The location is wonderful and the accommodation is luxurious and somewhere that you just do not want to leave. We have stayed with Luc two times now and would be back tomorrow if possible.

Having read all the reviews and wondering whether a place or a person can be so special, believe me both the place and the man are exactly that.We had visited St Paul before but this was the first time we had stayed and being in the village in an absolutely beautiful , characterful property with a host that helps and guides you to get the best from your time was magical.
Do yourself a favour and go and sample the amazing experience.

Almost too good to be true! You arrive to a modern provencal renovation with an eclectic collection of decorations to keep you guessing the origins. The TV has lots of channels for the lazy couch days. The Ginkgo suite has a big bath.
In the fridge you will be welcomed with an assortment of eggs cheese ham yogurt wine beer soft drinks etc. a fresh fruit bowl, fresh flowers. Everything you can possibly need and things you haven't thought of yet!
Especially the best part is Luc (and Wookie)...if you come to stay you can be lucky enough to join the Maison Aux Bonsais family...with Luc's contacts and experience you can be sure of spending your time well in St Paul and will never waste your time on the second best restaurants coffee or ice cream, just ask Luc to steer you in the right direction.
Home away from home, super relaxing and the best host ever.... There can be only one and that is Maison Aux Bonsais!
