“Our last lunch in France”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

Had the most wonderful meal, we asked for recommendations and was just perfect. The cheeses were freshly made. Should be on the travel channel. The wine bag has been a great suggestions for gifts and a hit here in the us.

“Eating”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

I liked breakfast but dinner wasn't that tasty. The terrasse is very nice to eat on when the weather is good.

“The worst”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

The staff here was awful. We waited 20-30 minutes between courses. The food was pretty bad too.

Avoid at all costs.

“Delightful surprise”
Reviewed July 28, 2012

After the 4 of us explored St Paul de Vence for the morning, we began to run out of time to find seating for lunch. Our first choice restaurant wasn't sure they would be able to serve us properly before their kitchen closed and they recommended that we quickly go around the remparts to this restaurant to see if we could 'snag' a table. We could. At first I wanted to leave. No one greeted us or brought us menus. I was overhungry, i acknowledge, but i wanted to leave. Finally Estelle came & charmed us all. She clearly loves the restaurant. loves the food. loves you to have a good experience despite the slow start. After 5 weeks on the Riviera i had the very best gambas and risotto possible. my husband and our friend had the best sardine main they've ever eaten and the other woman had quail stuff with foie gras that had her moaning. The desserts were equally delightful and i don't think it was the rose that had us so happy as we departed. All of this fine food while overlooking the amazing hillside with soft breezes made for a perfect 2 hour lunch! Glad we had the time to enjoy it. The chef came out after the kitchen closed and while he looked very tired, we all clapped and cheered him as everyone on the terrace had the same experience as us: perfect food and at a fair price! Bravo.

“Great location, view and wait staff. Not so great food.”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

We were warmily welcomed by Estelle and had great service during our dinner on the terrace. The location is stunning on the walls of the city looking down across the valley as the sun went down.
Estelle explained the menu and answered any questions we had. A couple of us ordered squid for starters and it was rubbery. I would not recommend it. I chose a salad nicoise for main which was good but the feedback from others was ok but not great.
I would not rush back.
