I absolutely agree with the prior "skip it" comments made below. The French are almost without exception amazingly friendly, polite and just fun to talk to. The "exceptions" seemingly all work here. The food is prepared in unimaginative ways. I had the fresh fish of the day which was sole on the bone. For 45 euros that's what I got-a plain piece of pan seared fish sitting all alone on a big white plate. My wife's dish was an equally boring fish with some tomato coulis. Again, good but nothing special.
It was the bad service and attitude that made this a truly annoying experience. The waitstaff to a person were stuffy and rude. The bad service wasn't just reserved for us as a very well dressed group of four Londoners next to us complained about the same silliness we were subjected to. Want another glass of wine? Forget it. Need another fork to share something? The very stuffy young man gives it to you as if he has just sucked on the sourest pickle. However, if you want someone to constantly rearrange your silverware, then you are in the right place. The table we had was small so on occasion I had to move a spoon or knife slightly to make a little room. Each time I did the silverware sheriff would swoop in and move it back. It was bizarre because the same guy wouldn't get you another glass of wine without extreme effort on your part.
This place could be so much better. It is a very pretty place. It has access to very high quality food. We just couldn't figure out why the people working there were so rude. They just seemed unhappy to be there and took it out on the customers. For the prices, you should get an attempt at a smile and service at least as good as your local diner. France has so many great restaurants. I agree with the other reviewers who say "skip it."
