We came here from La Garde Freinet for our wedding anniversary and greatly enjoyed the 50 euro menu (plus cheese at 7euros). The food was excellently prepared, beautiful colours and flavours, imaginatively presented. The service was attentive but not fussy - little touches like immediately replacing a dropped napkin rather than simply picking it up. Everything was done in French but whenever we came across an unfamiliar word or phrase the waiter was able to explain in English for us. The restaurant is small - if any criticism at all it lacks atmosphere and of course it has no view - but the food soon commands all the attention. The dress code was relaxed - some people in jackets and smart dresses, others in jumpers. We thought it was good value apart from the Champagne which was alarmingly expensive by the glass! In all honesty its not the best one-star restaurant we've eaten in but we'd certainly return, perhaps to try the Chef's 'surprise' menu...Definitely worth a visit.

We went to La Badiane because of the Star listing in the Michelin. We had a three course menu for € 50 and a four course menu for € 72. The latter includes also the highly commendable cheese platter. The regional wine vintage 2008 for € 40 was quite acceptable. Less acceptable was the menu for € 50. While all courses were beautifully presented, the fish had way too much salt and the desert was a chocolate tart on a hard, bone dry biscuit. Not acceptable for a starred restaurant. The other menu was much better and had some very original tastes, as in the egg foam creation as appetizer. Yet I expected something outstanding, which was difficult to find. All portions were minimal – without the bread we would have left hungry. We have been in much better star restaurants. It is OK, but not worth the money.

I've seen it 3 times . People just stop eating because they cannot believe that they are experiencing yet another amazing flavour .the Chef is an obsessive genius and his obsession is your joy . It's also original . He has made it all up . It's outrageous. Nothing should ever taste that good . .Go for the 50 euro menu and try and work out how he does that for that price . The wines are also wonderful all very carefully chosen ...every year it's my holiday treat

Phenomenal meal, service and atmosphere. The small, intimate restaurant and window into the kitchen set the tone for a relaxing meal.

The cauliflower foam, the foie gras, the pork, all was fantastic.

Make sure you go.
