Owner description: It took Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, one of the most original women on the French Riviera, seven years to build one of the most beautiful sites on the Côte d’Azur. An enlightened art enthusiast who travelled back and forth across France and Europe, Béatrice de Rothschild built up an incomparable and eclectic collection of masterpieces: priceless Sèvres and Vincennes porcelain, works by Fragonard, paintings by the masters (Boucher, Carpaccio, Tiepolo, etc.), Louis XVI furniture, and so on.

“Worth a visit...”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Spectacular setting and if you are into gardens well worth the visit. Inside not so interesting, very little social history of servants and minions that would have serviced this bizarre existence of a tiny elite, all bankers. Nothing changes!! Good tea room but very expensive £6.00 per cake! Stick to a culpa and its good value. You can get the 81 bus from Le Port practically to the door (stop 'Passable"

We visited this villa on the last day of our stay in Nice - the 81 bus stops right outside. The villa is breathtaking, for its location, views, gardens and well everything! The audio guide is interesting and informative, and gives a good insight into how the other half truly live! I was blown away by the blue bedroom and the view of the French gardens and dancing fountains from the terrace. You can walk around the seven or eight garden themes to the strains of classical music, fantastic if it is quiet. There is a café if you want refreshments, but it is only a short walk down to the yachts and restaurants in Cap Ferrat. Recommended.
