My husband and I spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel. We stayed in one of the newer rooms in the Orangerie with garden views. While the room was a little smaller than we would have liked, and the bedding could have been more luxurious, our stay was outstanding because of the attention to detail, impeccable service, beautiful grounds, fabulous food, and the location in the beautiful town of St-Jean Cap Ferrat.

The staff at this hotel truly made our visit exceptional. Friendly, warm, efficient, professional, and attentive! The hotel felt intimate and very welcoming.
We highly recommend this hotel and we will be back!

Room Tip: The Orangerie rooms are quieter with separate marble tub and shower. Ours had a balcony where we ate...

A friend and I stayed at this charming grand old lady in early September when the weather was simply gorgeous. What a perfect location , near all the riviera has to offer close by. Our room mountain view was one of the new ones small but perfect. The pool area is small and to be honest it must be overcrowded in the high season , but it was fine when we were there. This is the kind of hotel I can imagine people return year after year. A highlight is the wonderful breakfasts . Go for peace and quiet for a few days.

The Hotel is on the coast overlooking St Jean Cap-Ferrat . Had a lovely room opening onto the garden in the Villa l'Orangerie - very special . The Restaurant overlooks the pool and has fabulous water vistas . The food and service are excellent!
Will be back!!

Room Tip: Ask to be in the Villa in the gardens.

We recently attended a wedding in St Jean Cap Ferrat and chose to stay at the Hotel Royal Riviera. We were delighted with our choice. It is close to Nice airport, the staff were very professional and friendly and the rooms were lovely. We spent time by the pool and had lunch in the restaurant. I would definitely return and I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view or a pool view room

Let me start by saying, this is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location and has a reputation to live up to. Also, we did not stay here, only visited for the day and so cannot comment on the rooms. I reserved a table for Sunday Brunch in La Pergola a few weeks before our trip and had confirmation of the reservation by return email. The staff were very attentive and polite but unfortunately had lost my reservation, luckily i had proof on my phone. We were asked to wait at the bar and offered an aperitif, no problem a nice gesture i thought, even though a 5 star hotel should not lose reservations, other guests were not so happy. The lunch itself was very special and everything was delicious but when the bill came, we had been charged for our aperitif which whilst not the end of the world, i think should have been free of charge, considering the wine was a 10 euro bottle retail (less wholesale) and the hotel charged 12 euro for a std glass, it wouldn't have ruined their business that day. But as I say its not the money, if i didn't want to pay i would not have visited, i just expected a gesture of good will from a hotel of this standard.

On a similar vein, I noticed a lady who whilst moving a small table by the pool spilled her just purchased 3 glasses of champagne, although witnessed by a member of staff, these were not replaced by the hotel. Some of you may think, "why should they, the hotel staff didn't spill them" but if you want people to return you have to go the extra mile and well i would have replaced them for sure, its just good customer service and would have cost the hotel very little in comparison to the gesture.

Having said this, we spent a lovely relaxing afternoon by the hotel pool and a beautiful lunch in gorgeous surroundings. I would love to return to the hotel some day and may even stay a couple of nights next time. I can highly recommend it, a few tweaks and i think this hotel could be one of the best.

We thank you for sharing your brunch experience with us on tripadvisor. We paid a big attention to your comments and would first like to apologize for the few “tweaks” that occurred during your brunch.
Regarding your reservation, we did have it and confirmed it with you. However your table was not ready when you arrived, which is why we had to make you wait for awhile. We are sorry for making you wait and for the charges of your aperitif that should not have been on your bill. Regarding the split glasses of champagne, we checked with our barmaid and he informed us that the guests were actually offered to have them replaced but they declined. The original glasses had been offered since the guests were celebrating a special birthday. Please be assured that we always offer to replace split glasses.
We are pleased to read that you enjoyed your time with us despite these incidents and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back on another occasion. We will be glad to offer you 2 drinks on your next visit and invite you to contact us directly.

We just left Hotel Royal Riviera after two nights. We started our road trip from Paris to Rome via south of France and Italy. As we are still in the middle of our trip, I could not resist writing my review and mentioning that staying in this hotel was a highlight of our trip so far. The helpful and friendly staff made us feel at home specially with their great recommendations for authentic restaurants or helpful advises about anything we asked about. Moreover, the beautiful beach area and swimming pool and delicious lunches offered by their restaurant at the pool area. Also the large and perfect room added to the warmth of their hospitality. Thank you Royal Riviera to make our 30th anniversary a perfect celebration.

We spent 2 nights in this hotel and were very happy with the service from staff and the ammenities the hotel has on offer. The location was lovely. The service on the private beach was attentive. The restaurant was also good, if a little pricey; watch out the cheese course alone was £36 for 2 and was not mentioned as extra (a small niggle). Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful. I do agree that the room sizes are small for the money paid, however Nice is expensive and the common areas make up for the small room size. Moreover, we were made to feel very welcome in this hotel - a simple thing that not all hotels master.
