“Best summer vacation ever!”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

We found this camp on the net after chosing a region for summer holidays in 2012, and we loved it so much, that we had to return in 2013 again! In both years we booked a Faré côté Jardin 2 chambres Lodge for the 2 adults and 2 children, and it is simply just perfect. The equipment of the bungalow is all what you might need. Air con, wifi, etc. Modern, snug, and the design is special. Lots of facilities, last year we even had a little sea view, we were in the second row from the beach. The beach is OK, really close by. Soo many programmes in the camp and so many wonderful places to see nearby (Port Grimaud with the beautiful Venice-like appearing is few minutes by feet - almost every evenings programme) that one week just flies away. Should return every year.. A little negative is the noise till late at night. But without the nightlife the camp would not be the same, so better bring ear-plugs.

I regularly visit here and it is perfect every time. Last time we visited we stayed in a Al fresco mobile home. The mobile home was lovely and great for our family. the camp site has everything we need. We loved going to the beach which is only a five minute walk from our mobile home. The wee restaurant on the beach is just lovely. We enjoyed the arcade at night and live entertainment. On sundays we would go to port grimaud which only takes 10 minutes to get their from the site. Its worth the money and you should definitely go on holiday there :)

I have been going to Prairies for many years but have missed a couple of years due to illness. I returned this year with 2 friends. We stayed with Debs at Riviera Soleil and everything there was absolutely fine our accommodation was great and Debs was lovely she couldn't do enough for us. The site itself, although there has been a lot of the new type of accommodation put on, has not improved for the better! Certain parts of the site are very neglected and look quite tired and dirty mainly near the main road entrance. In the past we have always been able to book really nice trips to various place along the coast, this year that was almost impossible we did eventually book a trip to Monaco with a company called SIM to say it was a disaster is an understatement we arrived on time for the coach but were kept waiting 30 minutes for late comers the coach was filthy with no seat belts there was a stop at the perfume factory but nowhere where one could get a decent drink there was not enough time in Monaco to see the sites and get a meal the trip was a complete waist of time and money!!! I love it down there and will go back but the site owners really need to get their act together and get it back to the wonderful standard it used to be!!!!

Recently stayed here for 7 nights siesta coach holidays ) the campsite was lovely we had a 3 bedroom caravan the siesta lodges are in a very good position a minute walk from the site shop 2 min to beach 5 min to port entrance the whole place is spotless clean and the beach is lovely Altho sand bit gritty but the sea is crystal clear we stayed 14-22 nd sept it was a bit quiet and had a few very windy days deffo would not visit any later on thsn mid sept. There is plenty to do mainly off site tho port grimaud ok for a hour or to on market day and there's a short boat trip around the port for 5 euro each which was nice plus there's regular boat trips across to st tropez for 11 euro each return this is well worth doing there's also trips available to book on the site itself we visited Monaco / Monte Carlo
This was fantastic has your taken into nice on the way and also go to a perfume factory it was well worth the money and we saw lots of diff things the scenery was amazing there's also a train that comes on site and take you to a village old grimaud again nice for a wander round an hr or so, as for cost of things yes some things are expensive picnic takeaway onsite is reasonable chicken chips salad 5 euro beach front cafe not to bad large pizza with fries 13 euro ( enough for 2 tho ) onsite shop reasonable large water 60 cents large fizzy pop cola etc 2.40 euro bakery very cheap French stick ( huge) 1 euro etc eating out go to Monroe's average meal 15 euro drinks cheap during happy hour, please don't be put off by what some people say on here about extortionate prices I spent no more here than I would for a week in Spain or Anywhere else will be returning next year

Have been to Praires De La Mer on and off for about 15 years. It's a great place to relax, but there is always plenty going on for everyone. It's not far from St. Tropez and there is easy access to public transport, which is much better than public transport back home. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on site as well as an area for sports, like tennis and football, there is also an on site kids club, hairdressers, bike hire, tour operator, shops, takeaway and a little fairground in the evening.

we've just returned from 2 weeks camping on the Les Prairies site.

Overall, the site, its facilities and (busy) beach are all great. It's pricey - but being near St.Tropez, what do you expect? :)

I'd like to return, .......if it wasn't for the NOISE!

If you are (tent) camping, what the website doesn't tell you is that you'll be within meters of the main road that passes the site. A roundabout sits at the entrance. Every night, seemingly all night, you'd have boy-racers with their bikes or sports cars causing a huge racket as they pass by. As they'd have to slow down for the roundabout, they'd then rev and accelerate with as much power as they could, and it really did seem as though you were camping next to a race track.

If you are in a caravan or bungalow, you might not notice it. If you are in a tent, try to stay as far back as you can - and bring good earplugs!!!

Oh... I nearly forget .. if the racing doesn't keep you up, the youth-club will!! Next to the tent area, there are a bunch of huts used by various youth-club organisations, and they love to party till the early hours...

Thankfully, the whole area, plus the nice site, balanced everything out. But next time, I'll be looking for a more chilled place....

Room Tip: if tent camping.... maybe don't bother?!?! Or stay far back from the road and youth-club huts.
