This is a special occasion restaurant in every way: the amazing room, the waiters in tails, the extensive wine list, the stunning food. It is a place to go to celebrate. And if you have no special reason for being there, then celebrate the great cuisine of Jean-Denis Rieubland.
It is expensive of course - think at least EUR 150 a head and probably considerably more. The wine list is so full of fantastic bottles that you will find yourself ordering something more expensive than you planned. And the extra's can really add up for instance a glass of champagne is EUR 25, bottles of water at EUR 7 etc. But then you don't come here to save money, do you?
The food is remarkable. Visually stunning, creative and surprising with interesting flavours and enormous technical skill. The crab cannelloni is wonderful, as is the vegetable gnocchi. The John Dory for two is another classic. If you like table-side theatre then make sure you order the soufflé.
Service is formal and correct, but not stiff. There is a real passion in the way they describe the food and a real desire to make your dinner a special occasion, whatever your reason for being there.
