“Comfortable and affordable”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

Location is excellent especially when traveling by train. Parking was available directly in front of the building which was very helpful as the streets of nice are extremely crowded. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. However, the TV did not work.
Breakfast was offered for 7 euros and this was a rip off as you are served only a croissant and a half baguette. If this breakfast was improved this hotel would be an excellent option for a short stay in Nice.

Nice little hotel two streets away from the Nice train station. The room was quite basic but served it purpose as I only used it for sleep. Downside of the hotel is that you are required to pay on checking in and they request that you leave the key at reception every time you go out. When you come back they don't check your name or ID against the room which is a concern.
The free wifi is great as well as the supermarket, bakery and cafe's around. Whilst the shower was big as soon as the water was turned on it became boiling so it was extremely hard to have an enjoyable shower.

Room Tip: A few of the rooms have balconies which is nice so ask if they are available when booking.

Located close to the train station in the heart of town. A good value for the room quality, but I think you end up paying for the bathroom, which was phenomenal. Enjoyed the free wi-fi, and the staff was very helpful with us.

Nice little hotel not too far from the promenade des anglais - we walked out and beack at night with our child and felt secure. Free wifi, clean but small room....no bidet...

Nice little hotel in the centre of Nice. The room was pretty nice (maybe a bit small), and the bathroom was great - amazing shower. The people working here are very friendly and approachable and helped us when we asked. Perfectly adequate for us for a few days here. Its also near the train station which means you can travel to Cannes or Monaco for the day. The only downside is that its a bit of a walk into the Promenade however there is a train stop just outside which you can hop on for 4 euros for a whole day!

Considering the price, its a bargin! Basic, for for a little romantic trip, its just the ticket.

There were 8 in our group with ages ranging from my 80 year old mother to my 21 year old son and his girlfriend. We all enjoyed our stay and found the location excellent with easy access to the trains, buses and trams.
The hotel was clean and well-run, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.
The surrounding area is vibrant, plenty of cafe's and bars and very busy during the day.
At night it is less appealing, lots of groups of youngsters hanging around the main areas, but certainly no worse than any English city.
Overall a very pleasant stay, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in the Liberation area of Nice some distance from the old town/promenade ares.It is a lively and interesting neighbourhood in the morning when the market is on, but less so at night. To do the walk to downtown in 15 mins in high temperatures might certainly be possible for Paula Radcliffe....lesser mortals might like to double that. The trams however are only two minutes away and allow visitors plenty of opportunity for getting up close with the natives.
The hotel staff were charming and spoke good english and the bathroom/bedlinen were clean. The beds were however firm to the point of being corrective and the bolster type pillows not v comfortable.Towels were an aid to exfoliation and somewhat past their best and clothes hangers were far from abundant--practise hanging all your clothes on one before you go. Air conditioning was efficient but could be and often was switched off centrally requiring a visit down 4 flights of stairs to request that it be turned on---the phone system to reception didnt work --and consequent trek back up.Family run the hotel was also family occupied as the sounds of children and babies were omnipresent and cooking smells pervaded in the early evening. The hotel also operated a charmingly inconsistent attitude to night admission. One evening a fellow guest was obliged to shin up a drainpipe and bang on a window to gain us entrance and most nights the doors were locked at midnight. Rue Vernier is not a pleasant street --the french love for dogs doesn,t extend to using a scoop and Rue Vernier is a prime example.Take a torch to light your path back at night!
