“Personality and priceless service”
Reviewed May 11, 2010

This is a small 2-star hotel between the airport and Vieux NIce. This means 15 minutes to either destination, and while there are many much more favorably situated hotels, this is a good, quiet location in a nice neighbourhood, not very touristy and easily accessible.

We were impeccably welcomed by nice people and the service we got was 5-star. These people really care about their guests. I would rather stay here than in an impersonal standard 4-star hotel, but that is of course a question of preferences.

The facilities of the hotel match the two stars, and so does the price, and on top, the hotel is clean and our room was newly furbished.

In dry weather, breakfast outside looks really nice.

Good value hotel. Close to old town & beach.

Freshly renovated, including the paint smell. Owners are are nice & honest.

the hotel is a tad noisy when people are coming & going, but thats only minor.

Would stay here again.

A very friendly, family run hotel who appear to care about their guests and their wellbeing. Good value for money if you are looking for a no frills stay for a few days. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I were taking a month in Europe, and Nice was going to be, and was, my favorite spot. This place is tiny, quaint, and close to the beach! The guy who checked me in was so nice and helpful! He let me us the internet in his office during our stay, as they didn't have access in the room (we had family trauma home we needed to check on) We had breakfast here once or twice, but found some other places close by, and went there too, just to keep it fresh. Lots of bread for breakfast, quiet neighborhood. We had a room with a shower and toilet, and I am glad we did. The bed wasn't that comfortable, but we were on a budget, (just out of college, no good jobs yet). It was a great value, be sure to take some of the mats in the lobby to use at the beach (Nice beaches are rocky!)

Got it through booking.com. It is very well located in a nice safe location. Many buses go from the train station. I paid 60 euro for a small single with private bath, no breakfast. No AC, but if you close the blinds and use the fan, it was not bad. Decent bed. Beach is maybe 2 blocks away. Bus 12 or 22 will take you to/from the Nice Train station to a block or 2 away from the hotel. Bus is only 1 euro. Very helpful staff.

  • Disliked — Wasn't cheerful.

We paid 51 Euro a night at Hotel Danemark. We got a double room with double bed with a semi ensuite (shower & basin) with the shared WC in the corridor. The accommodation is on par with a backpacker standard for this price. The ensuite was a simple make shift fill-in job within the room space. The room was average size for Europe and had a wardrobe, desk/chair and 2 bedsides. The room was clean however the shower cubicle had a significant amount of mould that got worse over our 2 night stay. There was no A/C and a silly little desk mounted personal fan that was useless in the heat. Due to mozzies you could not sleep with the window open. Breakfast looked pleasant however was not included with what we had booked. The owner was very friendly but had only owned the hotel for 1 month. It is a fair hike from the train station and would suggest a taxi. It is very close to the beach and reasonably close to the new town centre but a bit of a hike to the old town (ie opposite end of Nice). If you are after a cheap stay this is for you, but we would not stay again and would pay a little more for a better class of hotel.

We stayed at this little hotel in Nice for three days. Excellent layed back service, parking (hard to find in Nice), quiet and comfortable. Budget price too. Wonderful little courtyard for breakfast and the manager will still make it for you if you get up late, and he makes great coffee. If your fussy about luxury this probably isn't for you, but if you like cheap, clean, relaxed little hotels this is perfect. Room 1 is the most romantic.

tres bien
