“With a seaview”

When you enter this hotel it is a little bit out of fashion but the room we had was very modern and new. Room 103.We had a outside so we can watch the sea and the joggers. The location is good, near the center and at the sea. Many restaurants in the neighbourhood, the Koudou is very good. There are also underground carparks a few meters from the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was chaotic, there was one waitress and she runs like the Olympic Plays but for so many people you need at most three men/women.Compliments for the hotel, we forgotten clothes and they send it to our home.

Room Tip: Room 103, great view and modern.

After reading the bad reviews on here I was concerned to the state of the hotel. On arrival scaffolding covered half the hotel but we were open minded, perfect location just across from the beach. Half of the rooms under renovation and a picture in the lift showed you what you could have once finished. Our room was good size and although very dated was clean. This was a pleasant surprise. No bad smells found in the foyer either. The annoyance for us was the rude ignorant staff in the bar who were never there to serve you. I waited 10 mins one evening to be served and gave up in the end going to reception to ask if I could have a drink. The bar closes @ 10.30pm and whether your sat there or not you get no warning or offer of another drink they just shut up shop. I asked for a drink whilst barman was closing to be told no its closed. I advised I was staying in the hotel and with complete resentment and no smile he served me very reluctantly. I have never stayed anywhere where the staff are so unhelpful and rude. I won't be staying here ever again due to the rubbish service!!!!

The room was cool, clean and quiet but very small. The food was very poor. There was absolutely no assistance offered by waiting staff at breakfast to a guest with reduced mobility. Good Location.

I don't know how on earth this place has 3 stars! First, they screwed up our reservation. It was supposed to be for 3 nights and they only had us down for one. However, this was a blessing in disguise. The hallway upstairs smelled old and musty. Looking at some other reviews, it appears that the hotel is undergoing renovations. It did look like the bathroom had been partly redone, but the trim around the ceiling was still dingy looking, the drain stopper had to be pried off in the sink, and there was only one VERY dim light in the bathroom. The bedroom had what appeared to be newer furniture and a flat screen TV, but the linens were old, and the light fixture in the middle of the room was literally hanging by its wires 4 inches below the ceiling! We had an ocean view room, but the balcony was small and had only one cheap plastic chair on it. And the noise from the promenade was very loud at night.

I guess the location is pretty good -- right on the beach -- and this place may have been nice about 30 years ago, but it's definitely past its prime and cost me almost $300 for one night. We moved hotels in the morning and were much happier afterwards.

We traveled through 5 countries on this trip and stayed at some wonderful hotels. This was the only hotel that disappointed us, and ironically, it was the most expensive of all the nights on our 14 day trip. The bathroom was outdated and plumbing in poor repair. It had a horrible moldy sewer smell to it. We tried plugging the drains and airing the room out, but it didn't help. The carpets were old and dirty. We wondered if the hotel had had water damage and mold issues. The halls & room was musty and it just didn't feel healthy. There were visible signes of water damage on the carpets, walls and ceilings in the hall. We had ocean view but first floor so the traffic, music, honking, skooter noise all night was too noisy to sleep with windows open. We we were informed the water heater was being worked on so the hot water would not be available for the full day. Their hand out prohibited use of their outlets for any appliance not provided by the hotel. We had adapters and wanted to charge our phones and I wanted to curl my hair. We couldn't believe they would expect travelers to not use electric outlets. However, due to the old poor condition of the hotel we feared we should comply as maybe they had electrical issues in addition to plumbing issues and we didn't want to risk a fire. The balcony was shared and the security screen was missing so it was possible to leave window/ open to sleep. We were thankful we were passing through with only one night to suffer through.

We stayed during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend and so knew that the price would be higher for all hotels in the area, so can't complain. Having read other reviews, we were expecting to feel that we had paid a lot of money for a less than average hotel. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. We had a sea view room which had recently been refurbished. It wasn't huge but quite big enough as we only really slept there and were out all day every day of our stay. The view was fantastic and if the windows were shut, the noise from the road did not disturb us night. The bathroom was a good size, with a huge sink and double shower. The room was serviced every day.
We didn't eat at the hotel and found plenty of good options for breakfast within a few metres of the hotel. The bar was nice but our only complaint was that it shut at 22.30 and so we were not able to enjoy a drink on the terrace on returning from dinner.
The location was great. 25 mins walk to train and the No98 bus to the airport stops about 50 m from the front of the hotel on the promenade (4E one way..rather than 30-35 for a taxi)
We would definitely stay here again if in Nice.

We stayed here for 4 nights during the Monaco gp weekend and it is better than many of the reviews suggest. I have stayed in Nice 10 times in he past 12 years and hotels are usually very expensive for high quality or a moderate price with average quality and poor decor, this hotel I felt was moderate price with a great location and better than average quality rooms.
We had one of the city view rooms which hasn't been refurbished, despite this it was large and clean as was the bathroom, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were cleaned every day. The terrace bar is a great asset as many hotels in this budget do not have any communal bar areas. I chose not to pay the breakfast price as there are 3 good options within 200metres.
In summary this hotel is not the luxury it once old have been but it is clean, excellently located and above average in comparison to hotels in the same price range nearby. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have been refurbished but those at the back are quiet
