“great if you can get a seat!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

We took the early affternoon train and got to the station early- make sure that you know which station you need as it is not the main one. We were lucky to get a seat- I wouldn't have wanted to stand for the duration of this trip. We got off at Entrevieaux (I ttink that's how it is spelt?) about half way along the route- this is a spectacular medieval fortress town with many narrow alley ways and nooks and crannies to explore and a few bars in the old square (don't expect rapid service!). I didn't explore the battlements due to lack of time and lack of exact money to pay at the turnstile- take some euro coins . The station platform for the return trip was bedlam and if the same train had returned to pick us up (a one carriage affair) most of us would have been left behind- but thankfully it was a big one. Stunning scenery and well worth the effort.

“Bumpy Train Ride”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

The narrow gauge track made this journey quite uncomfortable and the scenery was not too special. We got off at Entrevaux and wandered round this interesting old fortified town. We ate at restaurant opposite the old town gate. It was OK but very expensive. The owner reminded me of Basil Faulty!

“Good day out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

Great trip which would have been even better if we hadn't had so much trouble finding the train station! The day we travelled there were some problems with the line so part of the outward trip was by coach but this didn't spoil the trip.

“A Great Day Out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Lovely train trip and nice to get away from the hussle and bustle of Nice. Trip was very scenic. We travelled to Annot, spent an hour there, then got the train down to Entrevaux where we spent about four hours. All for 23 euros return each.
