“Good location, very clean , everything you need for a great visit to Nice”
Reviewed June 16, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

The location was very central , walking distance to the old town ,minutes from the sea front, public transport is great in Nice and the surrounding areas. Local shops and supermarkets , local bakery( excellent), pizza van around the corner (recommended) . Jill is a fabulous host, the apartment has everything you need and more, the balcony is so great . Jill accommodated our late arrival and late departure, A really great apartment in the heart of Nice , you cannot go wrong with this one.

“A well-equipped and comfortable apartment in an ideal location.”
Reviewed August 7, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We received a warm welcome from the owner. It was comfortable, well-equipped and in a quiet location a few roads back from the seafront. Great bus in links into the old town and further afield inland.

Authentic, French living in a superb apartment located in a quiet street, yet minutes from the beach , local shops, and restaurants. We loved this apartment, and the highlight was the cool balcony with fully equipped outdoor kitchen, over looking the streets of Nice ! We barbequed in the evenings with a glass of local wine :) Jill is a great host, and will help with anything you need without being intrusive . The apartment has EVERYTHING you need to enjoy a relaxing break in Nice, from umbrellas to beach parasols ! The rooms are beautiful, bright, open and peaceful with no noise or traffic at night . We are looking forward to our next visit , with our kids in Spring.

“Great Balcony”
Reviewed August 27, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Stayed here for a week, and loved it!
The location is perfect...close to the beach, Old Town and many of the sights...yet it is also quiet at night!
The large balcony was definitely a feature we enjoyed...dinner on the balcony was a great way to finish the day.
The landlord was very helpful, and speaks English...which is a plus for us.
The A/C was also nice to have.

“Good location, very helpful owner.”
Reviewed August 25, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The apartment is very conveniently situated for the beach, with the old town about a 20 minute walk away. The apartment is well-equipped and the owner very kindly provided us with a welcome pack, which included wine and some snacks. The bedrooms are comfortable, with plenty of space to hang clothes. There is air con in the living room and the main bedroom, but not in the second bedroom, which was uncomfortably hot. The balcony is a good size and, as the apartment is in the 5th floor, traffic noise was not a problem. Beach towels, floats and mats were also provided for the beach. The owner was very helpful, responding promptly to all of our e mails, helping us arrange transport from the airport, meeting and greeting us at the apartment when we arrived.

“Excellent apartment”
Reviewed June 23, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I have just returned from a week's stay in this apartment with my husband and grownup son. The apartment was exactly as described and extremely well equipped with a good variety of books and DVD's.

The owner had even provided such things as herbs and rice for cooking and beach towels. The information folder she had provided about local amenities was very comprehensive. She is British so communication before hand was extremely easy.

The flat is situated near the beach and main bus stops. It is on a main road so there was some traffic noise at night and particularly when using the balcony. The outdoor kitchen had a resident pigeon who enjoyed our biscuit crumbs.

“very nice flat - partly bad service”
Reviewed July 21, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

First of all: very nice flat, with everything in it you may have use for.

In general: Nearly everything in function.

The highlight: a large terrace, with possibility to cook/bake/grill, a big table for a least 4 persons, sunbeds and a fridge. Fantastic.
The bedrooms er big enough with good beds, one of the rooms has aircondition.
The livingroom is not too big, but you have a large couch in it which can be drawn out and becomes a dobbelbed. It has aircondition ++ for that.
The kitchen is small - but you don`t need this kitchen - because everything you need to cook is situated on the lovely terrace (except the stove).

It is very close to the beach - 4 minutes to go. No better beach to get in Nice, so it is not necessary to take the bus to get other places.

The market is just arround the corner, maybe 2 minutes to go. There is also a bakery - ver nice to get fresh baguettes there.

You have plenty of busses in the front street. If you arrive with the plane (which is most common) and you don`t want to get "robbed" by the taxi driver - DONT take the taxi. Our driver was very friendly, and talked a lot - but never switched on the counter and took 45 euros (!!!) for a distance which should cost a maxiumum of 20 euro (this is the official price to nice which is mentioned on a label at the airport). Take the buss number 10. It cost 1,5 euro per person, and gets you in the front of the flat (50 meters to go).

If you want to rent a car: there is a parking house arround the corner. Price is ok - 160 euro for 14 days, and you have a guaranteed place day and night.

You may ask "why just 2 stars for such a nice flat??". I am VERY sorry to give just 2 stars. VERY sorry. Because this flat is better than these. But:

Minus 1st star: you can not close the door to the bathrom. This is a problem which must have occured for a long time ago - there are clear marks showed in the door case after a lot of trying to close this door. Nobody (not me and not one of the to ladies who spent there 2 weeks) was amused about this fact. We had to alert each other every time one of us had to use the toilet. And it is less amusing to get all the sounds of the others "business" in clear dolby surround through the flat.

Minus 2nd star: The shower was broken already day one. To precise this: the grip you control the heat of the water was overrunning. We repported this to Jill, and only get back "yes - but yesterday it was ok". Sorry - this is NOT an acceptable answer when it is CLEAR (!!) that the problem was tha usage. A plumber came also to the flat, and confirmed to all three of us (as he came back to the flat because of forgotten car-keys) that this damage was generated by longterm use.

For Jill (who is not a plumber) was this our fail. Why in the world should we lie about this?? If we had damaged this grip - ok, no problem, we pay for ALL damages we create.
Now I have waited 3 weeks (!!!) for the caution - no money arrived. Jill takes 250 (!!!) euro - for a damage which was caused by long use (and confirmed by plumber!!). This is not to accept.

Minus 3rd star: our flight back was at aprox. 12:00. And we had to return the car to the car rental. We informed Jill about the fact that we had to leave in the morning. No massage from her for 2 days. The day before we should leave we found a single paper in the living room with "checkout is at 10:00 AM".
So, if I understand Jill`s behavior in the right way - if your flight is going early the day you leave - better ring your airline or the pilot and beg them to fly a couples of hours later. NOBODY is coming to check you out the flat.

Summary:

If you:
1) want to live in a lovely flat (!)
2) are not affraid to execute your "business" with friends
3) have 250 Euro too much and never want to see them again (!)
4) are capable to check out for yourself

go with this flat. You will not be disappointed.

If you - despite a very nice appartement - don`t have 250 Euro to cast away and want to be alone with your "business" - get another.

I am very sorry to select the "thumbs down" - but when you (and every intelligent people in the world, inclussive a plumber) can see that a damage is caused by longtime-use but nevertheless YOU have to pay 250 Euro for it - this is not acceptable. It is robbery.

(I have both: photos AND videos if somebody - or tripadvisor itself - wants evidence: the nice flat as well as the minuses)

Management Response

A booking for 2 people produced 3 who within 48 hours had destroyed the shower column. The lever which changed functions was pulled off, the shower at one side had been pulled away from the wall and the overhead shower end dismantled and reassembled wrongly. This was a holiday weekend so the plumber was not available until the Tuesday. He was horrified at the state if the shower but managed to fix the overhead so that it functioned. I realise now that when someone causes such damage they no longer care about leaving the flat in an acceptable state. There was piles of rubbish, mouldy food, piles of dirty dishes and stained bed spreads. My call, text and note under the door requesting a time for checkout were all ignored and they basically did a moonlight flit in my opinion confirming their complete lack of respect for the terms and conditions of the booking
