Friendly owner. He speaks a good English and is good at recommending. There are a handful of tables so it is absolutely mandatory to book. Little menu (about 10 dishes a la carte dishes plus 4-5 dishes of the day) that allows to have freshly prepared food with great care and fresh ingredients. From the kitchen you see the Thai cook working and spreading a fantastic smell. Each dish costs 12 Euros. We took "nems legumes" (dish of the day), that are a kind of spicy vegetable rolls (with dominant note of lemongrass), then green curry chicken and red curry chicken (more spicy), these truly exceptional, served with a dome of rice separately. The portions are just right, not too abundant, so there is room for a very peculiar dessert: slices of mango with frosted rice and coconut milk, not bad. Discreet also the Thai beer that accompanied the meal. Reasonable price: 53 Euros for two. Positive note: it is frequented by many Asians. Try it when you want a little break from the excellent cuisine of Provence.

Found this restaurant via Tripadvisor and I have to say that I did a good choice.

The restaurant was quiet small (about 25 covers) but very clean and the staff was very friendly. The food was just excellent and if you look for the real Thai food, it is definitely the place to go (I can say that because I am Thai and they really cook it like at home!). Som Tum (papaya salad) and Gaeng Daeng (red curry) were sublime. Tom Yum (spicy prawns soup) was also excellent. You can tell them if you want your dish to me more or less spicy as well.

Since the restaurant is quiet small, you better call and reserve the table in advance!

After 8 days of French cuisine, we needed a taste of home. Courtesy of Google, we found Le Ban Thai and saw the excellent reviews. On a cold winter evening, there was nothing more than we could think of but hot Tom Yam soup and creamy curry. We found this restaurant but was told we needed to have reservations. (Horror). The owner was really really nice and seated us anyhow (we had an hour to have our food before the first reservation). Like the others have mentioned, the menu is small but the quality is there. It was authentic. The red chicken curry was delicious, the papaya salad was crisp and the tom Yam was perfect for cold winter night. Our only thoughts were that the food lacked the heat and full-on creaminess (curry) and perhaps more fish sauce and lime which us Asians adore. But we realised that perhaps this was to cater to the local Nice audience.

Nevertheness, the food was fresh, simple and authentic. A-roy!! :)

We went to this restaurant yesterday. Food was delicious and service was great. Just menu is quite short. But its worth going there for sure. Service and food was way better than Aroy Thai.

We just had lunch at this small restaurant and it was a very pleasant surprise. It is a fairly small place (less than 10 tables), the choice is limited but varied and representing well the various regions of Thailand. Everything was fresh and extremely tasty. By far the best Asian food we had in Nice so far. Since it is a small family business and every meal is prepared individually we assume that it might be a bit slow, when the restaurant is full, but it is really worth the time spent.
For information : on demand almost all the dishes are prepared gluten. Very reasonably priced.
