Description: Les Brasseries Georges Nice is located in the city center, one step away from "La place Massena" or "Massena Square". Formerly a Theater, the restaurant kept its architecture and its acoustic; even full, everyone keeps the feeling intimacy. You'll find the typical French Brasserie Atmosphere, an exceptional setting where to enjoy a family meal or a quick business lunch.

Walk in to a dream setting of a restaurant we were seated at the front of house with a good view of the kitchen
All the menu was in French with a little help we placed our order and were not disappointed with fish soup to start followed by the best cooked salmon ever and my husband had the duck.
Service was first class and you were we'll looked after.
Returned on Saturday evening a lot busier but still looked after everyone and the whole set played out even better.
High end prices but a real treat .

We used to go to this venue when it was the Brasserie Flo and enjoyed the experience - it's a beautiful room with excellent decor, as before. On this first visit to Les Brasseries Georges, we were disappointed and a bit suspicious that both the plat du jour and the dessert du jour were off by the time we tried to order them - the plat du jour by 1230 and the dessert du jour by 1320. Ostensibly the prices are very good - 9.85 euros for the plat and 4.90 euros (I think) for the dessert. However, the carte prices, as you would expect, were a good bit higher and that was what we had to order. Makes you wonder if the plat and dessert prices are just to entice you in... That said, the food was OK - my magret de canard (18 euros) was very tender and tasty, my companions' meals were OK but not outstanding - bavette (very good) and hamburger (a hurried selection when it was revealed that the p du j was off, was average and the accompanying frites were cold and soggy). Puddings were fine - the ice cream made on the premises was excellent - and reasonably priced. The serveurs were very mixed ranging from cold and abrupt (when he told us the p du jour was off) and extremely pleasant and friendly. The wines were excellent and reasonably priced. We probably will go again but our review for the people who rent our apartment will be circumspect. A newish operation like this needs to deal with getting the quantity of plats and desserts right or diners will think they have been conned into paying more than they expected/intended.

This smart restaurant is not quite as good as it pretends to be, but it's become a useful addition to the top quality eateries in Nice. Food and service was pretty good on a busy lunch time, and the setting is interestingly different. Especially the dedicated room for smokers.

Wish we didn't have to crawl up dark stairs to the wash rooms.

Impressed by the recent negative reviews we nevertheless went into this restaurant for lunch on Jan 2nd. We arrived early (for local standards, as it seems) at around 12:10. First guests in this what seems a huge restaurant, an impression created by a giant mirror wall with a built-in window opening a generous view on the kitchen activities. All in all an elegant setting (nice view from the balconies on the upper floor on the way to the restrooms) with some interesting details (ceiling). Place filled up by around 1pm. Food (salad, 2x duck, suckling pig and a cold seafood platter as well as 2x marvellous "café gourmandise") was tasty and impeccable, even if a bit more than brasserie-type and slightly on the pricey side. Service was a bit stiff and rather impersonal, but we have also seen some smiling and cheerful waiters at other tables.
