Stayed here for one night visit to Nice. The street it is on is actually closed to traffic (rue
Massina). Our gps showed that you could drive to it but the road to turn onto is a tramway. You need to park at the place Massina underground parking. When you come out of lot after parking the hotel entrance is a short distance to walk. Once you reach door to hotel and enter there is a flight of stairs ahead. At top of stairs is a walkway to hotel building. Then there is a narrow winding staircase to get to hotel entrance. If you have heavy luggage you may need help to get it up stairs. Our room was small with an ensuites bathroom with shower. Wall mounted tv and a comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Quiet room. Excellent location, in old port and one block from waterway.close to restaurants and sightseeing. Quaint and reasonable price

This hotel is really well located for the beach and sightseeing in Nice and is good value. The hostess is very accomodating and while the rooms are not very large they have everything you need and it is super clean. The wifi can be a bit slow at times and the walls are paper thin but there was something very appealing about this hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed in three different rooms, having stayed here at the start and end of the holiday. The location was superb - very central but hidden away, so it's quiet. Knowing Nice isn't cheap, we were looking for somewhere of reasonable quality but still with a bit of character, which was exactly what we got. Staff were very helpful and keen to answer any questions. All of the rooms were individually decorated and comfortable and although the bathrooms were small, they were adequate enough. Would happily stay here again.

Stayed here for one night at the beginning of our honeymoon, before traveling to Italy for the rest of our trip. Very basic hotel, but great location and OK price point (for Nice, where everything else is super expensive), especially for just one night. Our room had 2 rooms - one smaller with a twin size bed and couch, with a balcony that looked out to an alley/wall of the adjacent building. Good air flow though, for having no A/C. The larger room had 2 twin size beds, a small table and a small flat screen mounted to the wall. (will post some pictures soon)

PROS:
- free wifi - weak signals in areas of our room but it worked!
- good central location, pretty easy to find after taking the bus from the airport
- nice staff/helpful, baggage storage, room was clean

CONS:
- very basic, hard beds (by American standards) - we were so exhausted from our overnight flight that it didn't really matter though!
- no breakfast- for us, not a big deal since we were headed out the next morning (apparently you can request some kind of breakfast the day before for an additional price, but we didn't find this out until it was too late the day before)
- super small bathroom (but clean!)
- the door to our room had a piece of plywood in the middle (needs a whole new door) - again, since our stay was so short, we weren't too bothered by it. But definitely not secure or private.

Overall I can recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay on a budget and want something with a central location. :)

We stayed in hotel rex just one night but it was a pleasant surprise. The building itself is a bit old but when you enter the hotel you realise that everything is chosen very carefully and it is so charming and clean. I have lived in France for a while and i felt it was very french style. The location was ideal, in the centre of Nice. The only thing i would like to suggest is a bit more privacy for the bathroom.
