I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I was in Nice for a business trip during Carnaval and was thrilled to be staying at the Hotel Oasis. My meetings were at another large hotel on the beach (Le Meridien) and I was so glad to be able to retreat from the crowds (and the impersonal and at times unfriendly staff at Le Meridien) and go back to the Oasis. The staff at the Oasis were fantastic--helped me in so many ways and knew what I needed without my asking. I had a room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard and it had almost everything I need when I travel: wifi, coffee/tea in the room, small fridge, safe, closet, desk, recently renovated bathroom with hair dryer, comfortable bed with updated linens, convenient light switches and enough plugs to charge things. The option of off-street parking at a very reasonable price was also a huge bonus. The only thing the room didn't have was an iron, but I'm sure the staff would have produced one if I'd needed it. Also the rooms aren't entirely soundproof, but a lot better than similar older hotels. It was close enough to the train station to get there easily and quickly, but far enough away to be away to be away from the seedier establishments that are always found by train stations. Lots of bakeries, little restaurants and grocery stores close by.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony

An oasis of calm in a busy city - looks out over a palm lined courtyard. Quiet and comfortable. Very clean. Convenient for rail station and airport bus. Well situated for getting to the sights, shops, restaurants and cafes. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room - always a plus for me and my friends! Not luxurious but worth it's 3 stars and a good deal for the price.
Only slight hitch was the very narrow single beds!

I had a wonderful 4 night stay at this lovely hotel, very conveniently located in Nice, just 5 mins walk from the main station and a short walk to the Promenade des Anglais. Very friendly and helpful staff, large room with a window looking onto the courtyard and a modern bathroom. Tout confort indeed for a very modest price. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: The hotel is set back from the road, so all rooms would be quiet.

Tucked away at the end of its own private avenue, this hotel is just a few minutes walk from the main train station in Nice. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity and yet be in the heart of Nice, this is a good hotel.

It is also steeped in history, being the winter residence of the Russian playwright Chekhov for a number of years before he died in 1904. It was known then as the Pension Russe, and provided full board for many of the old Russian aristocracy who came to Nice every winter for the sun.

The rooms have been modernized since, and there's a lift ! Although I enjoyed using the wide stairs for exercise. My room was on the top floor and had a lovely view of the palm trees in front of the hotel, and it had a balcony! There is a large garden where you can picnic in a very comfortable lounge area in the shade.

The room was spotless, pleasantly decorated and perfectly cleaned every day.

I walked to most of the places I wanted to see, including Cimiez (where Queen Victoria stayed at Hotel Regina), the Port (look for the "new" second-hand market on Place Garibaldi), the English and Russian cemetery in Caucade, the Promenade des Anglais. The weather was wonderful - blue sea and sky. There was also great baroque architecture which costs nothing to look at ! Food was reasonably priced in the many restaurants nearby (look out for Via Verde on Victor Hugo at lunch-time) and service was very amiable, particularly in the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel for its peace and quiet, spotless room, and its excellent location - just the right distance from the central train station.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a balcony - to have a real flavour of Nice.

ROUGH GUIDES led me to this hotel just three blocks from the train station and maybe seven blocks to the beach. The rooms are tiny but they are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and charming, the breakfast delicious and filling. It's also back off of the street, so you don't have to worry about street noise. If you take the bus 99 from the airport into the train station, then it's an easy walk to the place. And for those of literary and historical interests, it has connections with both Chekhov and Lenin!

The manager of this hotel is very helpful & the rooms pleasant & clean. The hotel, not far from the Place Massena is quiet & secluded but close to the action of this lovely town. I recommend this hotel to anyone who likes to sleep well and to be able to visit the town on foot.
There is a nice courtyard and some of the rooms have balconies, enjoyed my stay.

This hotel is easy to access. There is a nice garden with parking space but you need to leave the key of your car to hotel staff when you stay. This hotel is located at the center of Nice so that you can walk to all major attractions at the city.
