I really enjoyed this tour. It cost €8 for an adult (cheaper for under 12s) and lasted just under an hour. The commentary was good and it gives a good background to the city and how it has developed over time. Well worth the money.

We took this train near the end of our stay and were surprised that we had missed so much. Take this early for a quick look at the old town and the castle hill. Very relaxing way to see some beautiful parts of the city.

We took the petit train on our first day in Nice which I also suggest you do. You get a brief look around and see the most important sites including commentary which is interesting and informative. The trip is 45minutes so you have plenty of time afterwards to revisit your favourite places. Also very reasonably priced at €8 per adult. Get the train on the Promenade des Anglais on the shore side, opposite the garden.

Ideal way to introduce you to the sights of Nice particularly if you are travelling with children who will live the quaint little train. Starts on Promenade des Anglais and is easy to find. Only complaint was that the 10 minute stop at Castle Hill isn't long enough and we ended up walking back there on another day.

Usually an interesting little ride up the chateau hill (don't miss the water falls). The driver is usually irascible but is best ignored. Today however, his little train broke down, to the amusement of the locals, the chagrin of the passengers and the annoyance of other road users trying to go up the road to castle hill.
The passengers were told to walk back and get on another little train, back on the Prom again. There was no Bertie bus replacement service. After much gesticulation, nothing happened and the crowd dispersed to sup oysters and touraine Sauvignon at the excellent Cafe de Turin.
A splendid morning.
The little train is always worth a laugh; usually due to the rudeness of the drivers. Its particularly amusing to see their response when one tries to get on to a train on castle hill that you did not come up on. If all else fails, take the lift.
