We joined the small group with Gustav for the tour in August 2012. He's a great guy and explained much about Nice's history and culinary delights. We got to experience some geat places and learn about local food. We visited the Negresco Hotel and lot's of smaller back-street places. The wine stop in the old town was fun and going to the street market neat too. This tour was one of the highlights of our visit (the other was the bike tour) and can't wait to return to Nice.

This tour isn't just about the food. The guide, Gustav, gives a flavour of Nice's history and culture and, for people who are only in the city for a few days, he also covers a fair part of its geography. His rucksack reminded me of Mary Poppins' carpet bag, full of surprises! The highlight of the tour for me was the visit to the fabulous Negresco. I don't think we would have visited otherwise. All the other experiences, however, were equally interesting and enjoyable. We were in a group of 8, just the right size for chatting and making friends. Can't recommend this highly enough!

This is a great way to explore Nice for a few hours. You visit a mix of well known and off the beaten track places to really get a feel of this city while sampling many of its gastronomic specialities. Gustav is an excellent guide, full of knowledge, funny stories and passion for his adopted home. I didn't know how much walking would be involved and what shoes to wear but although it takes 4.5 hours it's not exhausting and there's no need for hiking boots! There are plenty of café stops and surprises along the way and plenty of yummy food. I agree with others that there's no need to eat breakfast before and you won't want lunch as you'll be stuffed full by the end. I totally recommend this tour; it's really enjoyable, educational, and gastronomic. What's not to like?! Thanks Gustav!

This tour is GREAT for anyone visiting or living in the Nice area. The tour gives you a view into the history of the city and it's culinary culture, allowing guests to experience a bit of upscale culture that the Riviera has been known for but also taking a visit back in time to Nice's more humble origins and learning, and tasting, what this culture is all about. The guide, Gustav, is great and it's a testament to his knowledge and passion for his subject that I, a long time resident of the area, learned so much on his tour. Others have noted, and I will say too, that Gustav recommends only a light breakfast (or nothing) and he's right - this tour serves enough food (and wine!) to cover both breakfast and lunch so skip the hotel breakfast and join the tour.

I recommend this tour to ANYONE who visits Nice. Gustav was an exceptional guide...one who made me want to return to Nice again. The food was wonderful...the overall experience was wonderful.....all in all, 5 hours incredibly well spent.

By the end of the tour, we were stuffed! We started at the Le Negresco hotel and sampled excellent coffee and designer desserts.... FABULOUS! All in all, we sampled wonderful local olive oil, Socca...a local chick-pea bread, local market food, local wine, local candied fruit, too many food types to list but all really enjoyable.

I am a travel agent and had several clients with me on this tour. Each of us left the tour wishing it could have lasted longer and knowing that given the opportunity, we'd repeat the tour.
