Right on the Rue Massena a few minutes walk to the Place and The Old Town. We had an inner room which was totally quiet. The place was clean and the staff were efficient and helpful. For the price you cannot complain. Some people have bemoaned the breakfast, it's continental, just bread, croissants, jams and cheese.........if you want Dragon's eggs sprinkled with powdered Unicorn horn then your gonna have to pay a little bit more for your hotel!

Room Tip: ask for an inner room around the courtyard

Ive stayed at the Hotel Regence several times, its reasonably priced and right in the centre of town, I was given a room at the front of the hotel on my last visit but I prefer the rooms at the rear they are more modern. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and I will definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: I prefer the rooms at the rear, more modern, the hotel is central and easy to get to from the airpor...

My first stay in over three years. The welcome was efficient and friendly, and I was soon settling in to my old favourite room 302 overlooking the back of the hotel. Although the view is uninspiring being mainly of derelict semi industrial buildings or appartments the good thing is that it is delightfully quiet and that is important in this busy central area of town. Although some of the communal areas are a little tired now and in need of refurbishment the hotel is clean and comfortable and good value for money. On a cold March visit the air conditioning worked a treat to warm the room up.
The breakfast is yes, basic, but it is enough to start the day with a selection of bread, croissants and pains au chocolat with butter jam or processed cheese. The machine drinks are ok, although I thought the coffee was terrible and went for the chocolate instead. As my flight on the last day was late on I was pleased that the hotel were happy to keep my suitcase for me to collect later on in the day.
This is not the best hotel for you if you are driving in Nice, it is in a pedestrian zone with little available parking in the area. Easily accessible from the airport if you take the number 98 bus (4 euros). From the train station you can take the tram to Place Massena for 1 euro - tickets from machines at the tram stop.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear of the hotel it will be quieter.

We have stayed at Hotel Regency in Nice about 3 or 4 times thru the years. Each time we have had a great time. We like the location, which is a short walk to the beach and Promenade Des Anglais. Also it is on a pedestrain street, and if you get a room overlooking this street (Rue Massena) you can see all the street performers down below, if you are there in season. There is a Galleria store just a few blocks away, where you can go to the down to the first floor and buy groceries. They have a pattisserie, wine, etc.--everything you might want.
The hotel is rated (by them) as a 3 star. Some have it listed as a 2 star--I think it is somewhere in between. The people at the dest are very nice and helpful!! It is also just blocks from the famous Flower Market, which turns into restaurants at night. Classic doubles are between 80-95 Euros (depending on the season) and the Superior Doubles are 90-110E. It is surrounded by restaurants of all kinds. We love the pizza place right near the hotel, on the same side of the street, toward the beach.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the pedestrian street, as sometimes you can watch the street performe...

Very central

- however from the train station, make sure you get some good directions as we got lost for a quick second as the google maps took us on a loop. < this comment has no reflection on the hotel but an error with a map application.

Room was clean
Bathroom was clean
Safe in room
Breakfast in the morning was good with croissants- coffee and juice.

Ask for the wifi password as they will not give it to you- make sure they don't charge you!

Recommend for a quick stay.

A basic, though comfortable, hotel. Comfortable bed and really hot shower. Breakfast was very basic - just the usual French stodge with butter, jam and La Vache qui Rit cubes. Drinks were from a machine. A nice gesture would have been to leave one of the machines on so that the footsore and weary could get a hot drink on returning in the afternoon. The free wi-fi was excellent and the position is very central - convenient for buses, trams, walking, shopping, sight-seeing. Staff friendly and helpful. No extras such as shower caps etc.

My mom and I had a terrible experience staying here for the first weekend of Carnaval in Nice. First of all let me point out the two good things about the hotel so I can show I'm not completely negative: 1) good location. and 2) good water pressure in the shower. Now for the negative aspects. 1) The staff was rude and didn't seem to know anything about the Carnaval events that were going on. For example, we asked how the bus schedule would change for the events, and they knew absolutely nothing, nor could they give us proper walking directions to the nearest station that COULD tell us. 2) Breakfast (which we paid extra for) was literally just a basket of 6 croissants on each table, a coffee machine, and a (disgusting) juice dispenser. No water, no fruit, no cheese, no eggs, no yogurt, no milk. Just croissants and coffee. 3) There was only one mirror in the room (which was the bathroom mirror), so when getting ready we had to take turns going into the bathroom. 4) There was only one working outlet, unless you also include the outlet for the TV, which I unplugged in order to use (even though it was a foot below the ceiling). 5) THEY CHARGE FOR WIFI!!!! We depend on wifi overseas, so we were forced to pay the 3 euro per day, PER DEVICE, for our two phones and one iPad in order to communicate with our family, look up directions, etc. 6) the toilet paper was behind your head when you sit on the toilet, making things extremely awkward. 7) the room was very cramped and barely had room for our two suitcases and two backpacks. 8) the blow dryer was probably not an actual blowdryer...it certainly didn't look like one, nor did it dry hair. 9) the lobby smelled like cigarettes.

Please don't support this hotel with your patronage...it is a complete waste of money and you will be miserable...unless maybe you're used to hostels...then this might be one tiny step above that...
