Stayed 4 nights, I would say it is really a glorified bed & breakfast. Rooms very basic, our room had a broken toilet seat ( we reported it to no avail ) , curtains didn't close over fully, glaring street lights annoying when your trying to sleep. Beds do leave you with aches and pains. Staff unfriendly, a very pompous guy at reception when we arrived , showed us to our room but failed to help with huge case and he expected a tip no doubt ! They don't want to know if aren't fluent in French , were very condesending. No sign for do not disturb or room to be cleaned, cleaner barged in despite me calling out from the bathroom . On the plus it's location is good and there is free Internet access !

Reception staff should be sacked and hope it all will come back to haunt him. TRIED to stay in this hotel but was turned away must be raking in the money and dont need customers. He did not like the way I looked, spoke, talked you name it ,and if any comment is added to this don't believe it . DON'T put yourself though it. Was on a round the world trip had stayed in some top end hotels around the world and some middle of the road the railway station who refered us must have misunderstood what we wanted .that a side we deceided . The bald headed French Man mid 30 -40 on reception should go and get a job that does not include dealing with the public he thinks he is a level above everyone and I wonder if his boss knows he turns people away because he believes them to be rude by the way they hold thier head or look well he will know because I will tell them and every other travel person who will listern.

Good hotel value for money, reception staff are very helpfull and spoke good English, room was clean and spacious, bathroom with bath and shower but no shower curtain. We were in Room no. 306 woken up through the night on both nights with noise from outside. Would return to this hotel but would ask for a quieter room. Didn't book on internet as we where moving around. walked in hotel last minute to book.

Just returned from a five week vacation in Italy and France. We like to fly in and out of Nice - smaller airport, easy car rental, great weather etc. This was our fourth stay at the Ambassador - a great little boutique hotel in Nice. Right from registration the staff bends over backwards to make your stay there as comfortable as possible. The location is excellent - a block from "Promenade Anglaise", and the views from almost every window is of the Mediterranean. We wouldn't stay anywhere else - it's become to feel like home.

This hotel is OK. GREAT location (if a bit noisy). our room was a good size, clean BUT hadnt been revamped for at least 20 years!
We were there 2 nights so it was a clean bed to sleep in and just fine.
Breakfast..... coffee.....cornflakes....yoghurt.

We stayed at the Ambassador hotel for 3 nights, and have no complaints. the reception area is clean and inviting, and the staff were very helpful. In fact they couldn't do enough for us, always with a smile. Yes, the rooms are a little old fashioned, and perhaps the bathroom could do with a fresh lick of paint, but it was typical of what you can expect for 3***, clean, polite and 200 yards from the sea.

I wanted to share this experience in order to put in guard others from making mistakes... The photos that you see on the hotel's web site absolutely don't correspond to the reality. The room is shabby and small mine was (323)and the bathroom is really minuscule the mattress is soft and very uncomfortable. The beach is 15 minutes walk from the hotel and nobody tells you that at the moment of your booking and the sun beds are at 10 sm distance no privacy at all....and then you discover all this nice extra things: parkig 16 E a day, swimming pool just to stay by the side 15 E a day more, wireless 30 E for 5 days .....it's so kind of them they don't ask you to pay for the air that you breathe... the only good thing that they let us leave after 2 days and without any extra fee......we found another place and decided to forget that bad experience
