We stayed here at the beginning of September 2011. The location is fantastic just behind the Meridian Hotel. The staff were fine and the breakfast adequate. However I think we must have been in the worst room in the hotel. It was room 108 located at the back of the hotel. When we walked in our hearts sank, it was more like a room in a hostel rather than a 3 star hotel. The window looked onto a sloping roof with no view whatsoever. The decor and the furniture in the room was old and dated and the bathroom was in need of modernisation.

This was our fifth time staying at the Ambassador. We love the staff and the location is second to none. We walked the Promenade, wandered through the market area, and had a great meal right around the corner. The view was out over a lovely park to the Mediterranean. We stayed in room 205 - quite large - with a very good size bathroom and all the modern conveniences. Our family stayed in one of our favorite rooms #407 and loved the view! You couldn't ask for better quality for the money. We like to use The Ambassador as our starting point for trips to Italy - a great first night, close to everything, and on our way the next morning.

Room Tip: favorite rooms 507,407,205

We came by this hotel by chance when looking for accommodation. How lucky were we to find this one! The staff (especially the gentlemen on reception) were exceedingly friendly and helpful. We were allocated a room with a balcony and great view of the park and sea. The hotel was spotless and our room and bathroom were of a good standard. The hotel is very convenient to all that Nice has to offer.

Room Tip: It was worth paying the extra for a room with sea view.

Located in the heart of Nice, close to busiest tourist walking and shopping streets. our room view was picture-perfect with water and park view. Bathrooms were modern for similar hotels (I care about this a lot) and the staff were very helpful. We had a couple of guests in the room late at night that the hotel did not want them to stay in the room, which is understandable given the local city regulations and noise factor. I have been to Nice many times and this hotel by far exceeded our expectations relative to other hotels of same rating, will definitely try to stay here again (we made the reservation the same day from San Remo in Italy and got their last room by total luck! during the tight August season where hotels were either full or very expensive. The hotel is located next to LeMeridian Hotel and Casino, which is a major luxury hotel in Nice. We came here after several days of stay in Italy where breakfast is included in the rate in almost all hotels, but in France most hotels have a separate charge for breakfast. The location for this hotel will save a lot of time and money and leg work as compared to other hotels which may be a few streets away but cheaper. We like to be able to have easy access to the hotel and use it to launch our daily activities such as going to beach or shopping and sightseeing. Old Nice is also a 5 minutes walk. A picture from front room windows could be used as a postcard with water and streets and parks view.

Room Tip: ask for rooms in front with view

Hotel Ambasador is a 3 star hotel and if you do not expect more than that you will be satisfied . Is a aged hotel but very clean and confortable. In spity of very coments posted here the air conditioned and the lift work perfectly. The staff ( only aged men !!!!) could be more friendly but they are efficient. I was in room 507 and this is the best room of the hotel because you have a balcony with good sea views. The location of the hotel is suberb, next door with great shops, comercial area and pedestrian streets, 200 m from the beach and 5 min walking to the city center ( old village). In conclusion this hotel is very good attending that is a 3 star hotel.

Room Tip: the best room is 507 ( sea vew and balcony)

Situated in a great location. In the middle of station and airport and near the coast line. You take a step out and you have a lovely view of sea and sky and also the branded shops nearby. Too good to be a 3 star. Rooms are very spacious. The room we stayed in had a room like wardrobe and even the bathroom had a bath-tub. In terms of a 3* overall I would suggest it to all and a must try. It has great people to help at the reception and even the whole of ambiance is good. Breakfast is also good with good spread. We were there 2 nights and we enjoyed it completely. It is also near the Lafayette Gallery square.
