When we go to Nice we stay at the Star Hotel and one of the many good things about staying there is that Le Bedouin is only a couple of doors away.

I love everything about this place, including the turquoise jewel-like exterior, the warm welcome, and the fascinating array of sweets and cakes in the window.

The menu is small and consists of a handful of couscous dishes. New this year is 'mechoui' which is translated in the menu as 'barbecued lamb' although the way it fell off the bone suggested slow rather than fast cooking. It was delicious.

Enjoy :-)

We have been going to Le Bedouin for over 10'years and w e never tire of it. Their couscous is superbly flavorful, their vegetables are local and supremely fresh. They serve only couscous as a main dish. The chef has worked there for 30 years. In addition to cooking, he also serves and it is always a pleasure to receive his warm, gracious welcome. If you love couscous, that's the place to go. Also lots of pastries and a delicious mint tea to finish off the meal

Looking for a change from the traditional French cuisine. Then head to Le Bedouin in Rue Biscarra. You will only need to order one main course to share - the food is a series of dishes based on (perfectly cooked) cous cous and slow cooked meat and veges. The total combination is superb and terrific value. The chef/cook is a very entertaining character. He comes from Egypt and his restaurant is richly decorated to create a very atmopheric and cozy dining area. The wine list is limited but offers good value. You won't go hungry. He keeps on offering you more 'top ups' of your meal. Ask him for some tea at the end of your meal and watch him pour it out very elegantly. His desserts are traditional middle eastern sweets and he has a good range.
An experience not to be missed. If you are a vegetarian, you will be in heaven!! But carnivores will not go hungry!!
