“Walking the old town, as must do when in Nice”

Walk around, inhale the atmosphere, go into those lovely little shops, sit down and enjoy a coffee. Its time well spent. Great restaurants too. You can easily spend half a day just in this part of the city. Wonderful!

“Wandered around for hours”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

Spent one morning walking around all the streets of the Old Town. It was also beautiful to be amongst the flowers at the Market and smell the perfumes of each one as we walked along. So wonderful and relaxing. Plenty of places to rest and take a latte or juice. Just loved it.

“Wish I'd had more time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

I loved Nice, but I was only there for one day and night. On my second morning, at the advice of another American, I headed for the flower market in La Vieille Ville and it was beautiful. So were the buildings of the old town -- I just wish I'd had more time to enjoy it all, but I had to be back to my hotel in time for Silversea Cruises' guest transfer.

“Vieille Lovely Ville”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

It's the heart of Nice and closed to everything you may want to see in Nice, such as Castle Hill or Promenade de Anglais. A lot of restaurants, cafes, shops and everything you may want to buy, from cheap to expense stuffs. Once you are there, you can't miss to taste "socca", a traditional local food, it's look like pancakes....very easy to find everywhere. The atmosphere is very nice, walking through those tiny streets, with a lot of people among you...as all places full of people, be careful with pickpockets.

“Worth the walk!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

Old town Nice is fabulous. It's bigger than many other old towns in Europe and is still very active in terms of commerce and restaurants. At the northern edge of the old town is Grimaldi Square, which is big and beautiful and recently restored. At the southern end of the old town in the Cours Selaya, or flower market which is great to visit and is surrounded by beautiful Baroque churches to visit as well. The Old Town is the best part of Nice!
